Ninkovitch Sprains MCL

Stay connected for news and updates

Saints defensive-end Rob Ninkovitch, who missed last season with a torn ACL in his right knee, sprained the MCL in his left knee on Monday. He is expected to miss about four weeks.

Ninkovitch was to serve as Charles Grant's primary backup at left-end this season. As far as the team's defense goes, the defensive-end spots were probably the only places where the team couldn't handle losing depth. But, injuries happen, and Ninkovitch should return before the end of the preseason. All the same, I would expect the Saints to sign somebody in the coming days to fill in while he's gone. (knockonwood) While Ninkovitch's injury will hurt, it's not the end of the season. (knockonwood)

But for the love of god, guys, STAY HEALTHY! (please.)
