Now

they have the offense movin!

by BayouRebel on Oct 12, 2008 12:19 PM CDT reply actions

Penalties aren't gonna help us though....

Offensive holding for -10 in the redzone is a drive killer

by dell00 on Oct 12, 2008 12:21 PM CDT reply actions

man....!!!

Missed a 31 yarder….!!!
Gramatica 6 for 10
Taylor Metcaff 0-1

by dell00 on Oct 12, 2008 12:24 PM CDT reply actions

once you get the misses on fg's, they don't stop all season!

Seriously. This is going to be a long season on fg’s. Just accept that we have to get TD’s or we’ll lose. And think of Melhaff’s makes as a bonus. Your life will be significantly improved.

by xen-cuts on Oct 12, 2008 12:32 PM CDT reply actions

Mehlhaff

has only been back on the team 4 days, he hasn’t kicked since preseason. I say give him a lil slack

by BayouRebel on Oct 12, 2008 12:34 PM CDT up reply actions

Time on team cannot possibly affect this guy

he was there all preseason. he’s been practicing “at school,” according to him. It’s going to be a long year. Look at what happened to the Cowboys a couple years ago….

Still, I’m happy we changed kickers. If someone is going to miss it might as well be the rookie retard who has a future with the team. Hopefully he’ll grow into this position.

by xen-cuts on Oct 12, 2008 12:36 PM CDT up reply actions

ridiculous that we're losing.

We need to get rid of losers on this team….and somehow find some real winners. Even though we have talent we just cannot turn the corner.

by xen-cuts on Oct 12, 2008 12:33 PM CDT up reply actions

I dont know man but....

There’s a kicker from purdue we should draft next year…

My thoughts..

by dell00 on Oct 12, 2008 12:34 PM CDT up reply actions

Ha...

I dunno… But he’s from Brees’s alma mater & he booted a 53 yarder against Ohio st @ the horse shoe with ease…

by dell00 on Oct 12, 2008 12:36 PM CDT up reply actions

the key for tampa is to play garcia

i know they hate him, but he’s their best qb. The guy is as good as brees.

by xen-cuts on Oct 12, 2008 12:41 PM CDT reply actions

garcia is good…. But he’s no Drew brees

by dell00 on Oct 12, 2008 12:43 PM CDT up reply actions

he has shit receivers

although I wish Clayton could get out of their doghouse because he pretty much won lsu a championship by himself…both ways player…amazing!

by xen-cuts on Oct 12, 2008 12:44 PM CDT up reply actions

with brees at QB

The receivers are like stormtroopers, it doesn’t matter who they are , nameless faceless drones.

by SaintBevo on Oct 12, 2008 12:45 PM CDT up reply actions

the only bad thing I can say about garcia

is that he panics under pressure. But it’s not like Brees has been pulling out games for us. If you go back to last season, there are a TON of 4th quarter drives that he hasn’t managed to pull out. There were what, 5 games last season that were “must win to make the playoffs”? Then there are 3 this year already. It’s not just the rb situation that is holding us up. Garcia has been at least that good.

by xen-cuts on Oct 12, 2008 12:46 PM CDT up reply actions

Did you see his stats from last year??

How can you blame him for what happened last year? – OL, RBs, Defense anyone?

by SaintBevo on Oct 12, 2008 12:49 PM CDT up reply actions

aaron brooks had amazing stats, too

the guy is good. Just not good enough all the time. The only stats that matter to me are wins and losses.

by xen-cuts on Oct 12, 2008 1:13 PM CDT up reply actions

Brooks??!

You have got to be kidding me. We have a QB who is maybe the best in the league, he kicks total ass down the stretch last year without a running gmae, without a good OL, with Jason David getting burned all over the place and it is his fault? Incredible.

by SaintBevo on Oct 12, 2008 1:16 PM CDT up reply actions

he could have kept JD off the field.

you know he had to do that. I don’t know what you are arguing about.

I’m not saying Brees isn’t awesome, I’m just saying that Garcia is just about as good.

by xen-cuts on Oct 12, 2008 1:26 PM CDT up reply actions

this is what we're arguing about

I’m not saying Brees isn’t awesome, I’m just saying that Garcia is just about as good.

I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree because I don’t think Garcia can carry Brees’ jock in a suitcase

by SaintBevo on Oct 12, 2008 1:31 PM CDT up reply actions

Bevo...

I’m with you buddy….

Garcia hasn’t ever had the type of season Brees has had the last 2 years…

He’s not that type of QB

by dell00 on Oct 12, 2008 1:33 PM CDT up reply actions

except for Garcia going to the playoffs more than Brees....

I haven’t looked up the stats, but Garcia has a better track record with multiple teams. Everyone seems to underestimate the guy, but all he does is win.

by xen-cuts on Oct 12, 2008 4:00 PM CDT up reply actions

Last week, wasn’t Brees’s fault… Miss by gramatica, 41 yard PI by KK sealed our fate…
Drew did his job, putting us in a position to get it to overtime..

Washington, Our defense failed us … We were up by 11 & our ground n pound couldn’t manage a 4-1

by dell00 on Oct 12, 2008 12:49 PM CDT up reply actions

not ONLY his fault.

if we had gotten one more td or he had kept that last drive going, it would have been a win.

by xen-cuts on Oct 12, 2008 1:13 PM CDT up reply actions

Did you see that

The Detroit QB running out of bounds in the back of the end zone without even trying.

We are so lucky we have Drew…

by SpindianSaints on Oct 12, 2008 12:42 PM CDT reply actions

Way to finish it off

Finally we started and completed something

by SpindianSaints on Oct 12, 2008 12:51 PM CDT reply actions

So Brees......

Did his incompletion on the defensive offsides go on his stats, or is he still perfect?

by dell00 on Oct 12, 2008 12:53 PM CDT reply actions

Fox Gametrax

has Brees 14/14 for 136 so my guess is the INC didn’t count with the penalty

by BayouRebel on Oct 12, 2008 12:59 PM CDT up reply actions

just me

or did grant get tackled on that play?

by SaintBevo on Oct 12, 2008 12:59 PM CDT reply actions

With an efficient running game....

It’s really opened up our passing game…
It’s also made for a very quick 1st half… Wouldn’t be suprised if we’re the 1st team into the locker rooms out of all the early games today….

It may not be pretty, but our Offense is doing an excellent job controlling the tempo & holding onto the ball… We may not see 30 points today, but they won’t see 20..

by dell00 on Oct 12, 2008 1:04 PM CDT reply actions

He is not a receiver

As long as he breaks up passes and makes tackles it doesn’t matter if he can catch. When he does it’s extra

by BayouRebel on Oct 12, 2008 1:18 PM CDT up reply actions

Still

It’s still getting frustrating having all those opportunities and not get some

by FrenchFreak on Oct 12, 2008 1:21 PM CDT up reply actions

While we have a moment,,,

Just wanted to say – Texas is #1

Hook ’em

by SaintBevo on Oct 12, 2008 1:23 PM CDT reply actions

The Nittany Lions are on their way to claiming the top spot

Texas’s remaining schedule is brutal, and there is no way that Bama can run through the SEC unblemished.

WE ARE PENN STATE!!!!

by SpindianSaints on Oct 12, 2008 1:26 PM CDT up reply actions

bama looks awfully good

but I have to cheer against them. $aban is awful.

by xen-cuts on Oct 12, 2008 1:28 PM CDT up reply actions

Sorry, but...

the bcs is gonna look all messed up yet again this year… Bama won’t go undefeated…. As said earlier, texas’s schedule is brutal…

Looks like there’ll be another matchup like last year with a 1 loss team or possibly 2 loss team making it to the title game

by dell00 on Oct 12, 2008 1:32 PM CDT up reply actions

so far

All too familiar Saints weaknesses: shaky kicking game has cost us 3 points. Two holding calls in the red zone… probably could have scored a TD. Either way it’s missed points. So far, no turnovers, though we did have some missed picks… need to make those plays. More McCallister would be a good thing. Why did we run Bush up the middle on the first drive? Resulted in 3 and out. Finally, Russell has had way, way too much time to throw. Saints need to run more stunts to get pressure on the QB, or it will come back to haunt them. The game is far from over.

by kssaints on Oct 12, 2008 1:34 PM CDT reply actions

Absolutely

Where’s Charles? And Will? And Bobby?

David's having....

….a very good day, About time…

by FrenchFreak on Oct 12, 2008 1:38 PM CDT reply actions

Horsecolar!

How about referees start calling penalties against Bush…

by FrenchFreak on Oct 12, 2008 1:42 PM CDT reply actions

How in God's name

is that not a flag – out of bounds horsecollar

by SaintBevo on Oct 12, 2008 1:43 PM CDT reply actions

2nd horsecollar from DeAngelo Hall today...

So far, the ref’s have failed to pull out their flags both times!!!!!!

That’d be an extra 30 yards in penalties

by dell00 on Oct 12, 2008 1:43 PM CDT reply actions

MELHAFF FOR 1!

Just triing to give him some confidence, we’ll need the kid

by FrenchFreak on Oct 12, 2008 1:48 PM CDT reply actions

Although our Defensive line really hasn't gotten much pressure on Russell

They haven’t really needed to, cause our backers n 2ndary are covering well, & we’re making McFadden non-exsistant…

by dell00 on Oct 12, 2008 1:51 PM CDT reply actions

Let me guess...

Considering your low post rate this week you just changed a diaper right?

by FrenchFreak on Oct 12, 2008 1:52 PM CDT up reply actions

time to finish a game

Saints need to show they can hold a lead. I hope they don’t go conservative on us.

by kssaints on Oct 12, 2008 1:57 PM CDT reply actions

Vilma's amazing

How can you be 6’ 1-230 and be as efficient as a middle LB?

by FrenchFreak on Oct 12, 2008 2:05 PM CDT up reply actions

VILMA IS A BEAST

He is just going to get better and better as the season goes on!!

The turnover streak comes to an end….

by dell00 on Oct 12, 2008 2:14 PM CDT reply actions

Much improved….

Nuff Said!

by dell00 on Oct 12, 2008 2:17 PM CDT reply actions

by BayouRebel on Oct 12, 2008 2:28 PM CDT reply actions

CBS is giving Mobile, AL Brett Farve…

Jason should thamk Russell

for not being accurate on his throws

by FrenchFreak on Oct 12, 2008 2:40 PM CDT reply actions

Got to say

Minnesota getting shut down by Detroit is pissing me off. Boy were we unlucky last week…

by SaintBevo on Oct 12, 2008 2:50 PM CDT reply actions

Unlike Bellichick...

….Payton is wise enough to avoid “bad lucks” with his key players

by FrenchFreak on Oct 12, 2008 2:52 PM CDT reply actions

Well

we need that. Now we have to win next week and we’re back in it!

by SaintBevo on Oct 12, 2008 2:55 PM CDT reply actions

Great game!

See you guys against Carolina.

by FrenchFreak on Oct 12, 2008 2:57 PM CDT reply actions

looks like that simulation was way off...
