The Saints need the best kicker they can get

If that’s Carney, then get Carney.

I don’t know if anyone else sees it this way, but to me kicker is the one position where it’s apparent almost immediately whether or not the player has what it takes. I can’t recall a kicker who really improved on the job; I can recall a lot of kickers who couldn’t get their minds right and faded from the scene, like Gramatica. We need someone who is tough mentally. I not convinced that describes Mehlhaff, and I don’t want to go through a whole season wondering what mood the kicker is in. If he looks calm and focused and plays well this Sunday, okay; otherwise, let’s go shopping.

I totally agree

Carney missed that game winning extra point, for God’s sake. He doesn’t give a crap. He’s kicking for today. As Saints, Morton Andersen was great, but Carney has been pretty damned good.

Sign Carney, let Weatherford kick off, and worry about more important things.

Joey and karma

Joey stunk up our karma for both Denver and Minnesota, did he not? I suddenly have a bad feeling about Carolina…

BAH

Minnesota the freaking team stunk up the world.. dont pin that one on Joey. A collection of high schoolers play smarter football then the Saints did that day.
