Winning record...here we come!!

This one is key. A bubble game if you will. A win makes us 2-0 within the division and looking like the best 4-3 team I have ever seen. This game almost marks the probable return of some key players like Marques Colston and Jeremy Shockey. Lastly, it's also the game heading into the London matchup. Losing today will really be a downer for my weekend trip acorss the pond next weekend.

I hooked you guys up with some pre-game audio from Sports Talk with Bobby Hebert after the jump. Have fun with that.

I will be here today enjoying the game with you guys. For some of you who may be knew to CSC, I highly recommend checking in on the comment section of this post during the game today and perhaps taking part yourself.

Who Dat!?

Star-divide

Here are three audio clips from Sports Talk. The first is with coach Ed Orgeron, the second features Drew Brees and the third is Lance Moore

Lets Get Ready To Rumble

Huge game, we need to control Steve Smith and not let him beat us.

We need long sustained drives, so Deuce is going to be a key.

If we score 30, I think we win..

Slugfest

I see a lot of physicality today. Both teams seem to sense how much this one means. For The Saints, a win means 2-0 in the division and no worse than .500 at the bye even with all the injuries. If I’d have told you all the injuries before the year, you’d have taken .500 at this point.

For the Panthers, a chance to avenge last week’s loss to TB and a chance to one-up their primary division foe. don’t want to lose to both TB and NO in first part of the year

What up

Anyone know why WWL does not broadcast the game online?

We could have converted that 3rd Down.

by SpindianSaints on Oct 19, 2008 12:23 PM CDT reply actions

3 stright incompletions by Brees

when is the last time that happened? not much commitment to the run there

by SaintsDynasty on Oct 19, 2008 12:54 PM CDT reply actions

Clear indication of why we do not win on the road

had a chance to go up 14-3, have the momentum, fumble recovery cannot stop them on third down, now losing 10-7 and in a real dog fight. We want to be an elite team, we cannot make mistakes like this.

by SpindianSaints on Oct 19, 2008 12:54 PM CDT reply actions

Poor playcall for the fumble

A TE screen to the hurt Shockey. Just double Steve Smith.

by Steve the fan on Oct 19, 2008 12:56 PM CDT up reply actions

was that

as bad on TV as it sounded on the radio? WWL really panning the play call on the Shockey fumble

by MobileSaint on Oct 19, 2008 12:55 PM CDT reply actions

YES

Shockey quick blocked and went out to catch the ball. Shockey was about 5 yds behind the line of scrimmage.

by FrenchFreak on Oct 19, 2008 1:30 PM CDT reply actions

Play Calling

Can someone please explain to me the play calls on third and short. Reggie running the ball? C’mon!!!!

by dicecar18 on Oct 19, 2008 1:33 PM CDT reply actions

Maybe

to throw them off? They think run with Deuce and pass with Bush??

Bush is a monster: 8 TD's and 100 YPG.

by SaintsDynasty on Oct 19, 2008 1:34 PM CDT up reply actions

It seems that every time it is 3rd and less than 4

that it is a toss to Reggie to get him in space to run for the first down. I have no problem with the idea, it’s just that they call the same toss every time. Mix it up a little with a run up the middle with Deuce or a play action pass.

by Steve the fan on Oct 19, 2008 1:35 PM CDT up reply actions

Special Teams

Bears have had two huge special teams plays. One blocked punt and something that looked like a muffed kickoff for a td

by dicecar18 on Oct 19, 2008 1:36 PM CDT up reply actions

On second thought

this shows no faith in the running game from Payton. If you can’t get 1 or 2 yds to get a first, you don’t deserve to win.

by SaintsDynasty on Oct 19, 2008 1:38 PM CDT reply actions

Can we beat good teams?

At this point of the season, I am not sure, we beat TB, but that was before the season was really rolling, we have to be an elite team this year, the talent on the team is there, the execution so far this season has not.
