Calling all kickers!

This just in..

Taylor Mehlhaff and Ben Graham both released this evening by the Saints

This could open the door for Carney, Morton Anderson, hell, maybe even the pizza guy...  I got an Idea, why dont they have a kicking competition during this weeks LSU game & find us a replacement a la Texas Tech..

So where do the Saints go from here fellas.. Looks like they'll have some time to look into some new legs

2 observations

1) It seems I did NOT overreact in the game thread to Melfhamp’s muffed PAT.
2) Graham didn’t even get to show off his torpedo kick or whatever the hell that was.

It’s almost November. WHO are they going to get to kick??? This is insane.

Someone tell me if you've heard this before, I've never heard it
Payton has admitted that he never should have let reliable veteran Carney go after the ’06 season, when he tried to upgrade to the stronger-legged Mare.

Carney is now one of the league’s most consistent kickers for the NFC East-leading Giants, who have two proven veterans on their roster with Lawrence Tynes recovering from a knee injury. Still, there is no indication that they plan on letting either kicker go, even when Tynes returns.

Well...

At least he admitted his mistake while still working here. Haslett made us suffer through years of his BS, refusing to ever admit a mistake, even after getting fired and going to St. Louis. Basically it took him 7 years to admit he should have benched Brooks when he was clearly injured.

challange.

See, Coach called the Offense together and said something like.

Boys, we have no kicker. So I want you to know that there is no such thing as a FG or Punt allowed anymore. We go 4 downs all the time. Now if you dont want to be stressing out the poor fans a whole damn lot, you best be converting a whole lot of 2nd and 3rd downs… Now, get back out there and learn to run block.

Don't know who the Saints will eventually sign

but it won’t be Kasay.

The Panthers have had one kicker for their entire existence. How many have we had in that time?
