New Orleans Saints choose kicker Hartley and punter Pakulak
The Saints have signed kicker Garrett Hartley and punter Glenn Pakulak after auditioning several players at both positions at their practice facility on Wednesday.
"We were impressed with both Garrett and Glenn throughout the competitive sessions and we will continue to evaluate the positions closely throughout the remainder of the season," General Manager Mickey Loomis said in a press release.

"...we will continue to evaluate the positions closely throughout the remainder of the season..."
In other words: you boys are on a short leash.
I just realized that Parcells hated kickers, and Payton is a Parcells protegé. Reckon that’s where this comes from?
He Was Awesome
Hartley was an absolute stud at Southlake Carroll High School. I saw him win the state championship with an outrageous kick for a highschooler. Lets hope he gives us some stability at the position. A good young kicker would really help us!
if.
He is such a stud… why was he released ?
Remember all the players we had come down for a try out.. they were all rejected from another team.
MT
True. It’s almost November. Not going to find any studs now. On the other hand, most kickers have been released by prior clubs. Like Carney. GA!! That was a mistake.
Is he a stud like our NCAA All American, Melhaff?
This is retarded. I cannot understand all these moves at KICKER. Why can’t we pick up a runningback or corner? Hell, Aaron Glenn is an upgrade for us…I’m sure we can find someone else like him.
