'Kick' Him Out
Martin Grammatica did it again. He cost us a victory. if it is true that he has a slight groin injury, then the team should have given him the week off and brought in an other kicker that was healthy. This is the second game that he contributed to the Saints losing.
He needs to go.
Will this happen? I don't know but he should.
It is so obvious that he will miss big kicks at key times in close games. That can not be allowed if the Saints continue to play in close games.

Nice
Gramatica has always been terrible, and as a Seahawks fan, I wasn’t too hung up on Olindo Mare but……
Mare is 9-9 on field goals this season, including 1 hit from 50, and a go-ahead FG against the 49ers.
Frankly though, that game should’ve been a blowout, and the Saints offense really lost that game with the clumsy turnovers and dropped passes and fumbled footballs. It reminded me so much of my Seahawks, everything clicking except one thing.
Also, that secondary is terrible, Gus Frerotte CANNOT torch you.
I guess the Saints, like the Seahawks have must-win games against opposition like Oakland and Green Bay.
Good luck on the season!
Signature? SIGNATURE?! Don't talk about SIGNATURE! I just hope I can write a sentence!

Thanks SS
I was thinking about Mare this morning, I’d heard he was doing well.
John Carney should be available soon and he is healthy and scoring. We should swallow our pride and beg him to come back.

YES!
I heartily second that. I have had no respect for Gramatica ever since the Cowboys’ playoff loss to the Seahawks. Remember how Romo fumbled the hold, then got up and ran? All he needed was a first down, but he was tacked from behind by a defender who blew past Gramatica while little Martin stood quaking in panic. Even a whiff of a block might have been enough, but Gramatica did nothing.
Even kickers need to be football players. And they need to be able to make a kick without bouncing up and down like a little girl who just got a new tricycle.

i must beg to differ, MtnExile
I remember that Dallas playoff loss very clearly, and on that botched snap on the XP, MG did not quake with panic. I remember it because at the time, I rewound the TIVO and watched that play 5 times. Why? Because at full speed as it was happening live, I saw what looked to me like Gramatica blocking the dude that ended up bringing Romo down from behind and thought to myself…"What the heck happened? " Well, after multiple further reviews I realized that it was just the weakest two handed push block I’ve ever seen in my life. Gramatica’s attempted block didnot even cause the tackler to break his stride or even change his path – it was PATHETIC.
Anyway, poor Saints stuck with another kicker with an injury as well as the heebie jeebies in his head now about kicking. (Erxleben from long ago, Mare last year) I could tell from the way that he kicked that last one last night that he simply overcorrected from his Denver mistake b/c he was kicking from the right hash again, and this time he hooked it left instead of pushing it right. I agree that we do need another kicker because we just will not be able to count on him being reliable again. And this kind of thing has already plaqued him his whole career…

Martin "Drama"tica needs to cut his hair, then needs to go back to acting in south american soup operas, where he belongs. the Fuzzy screen and spanish chicks is better for him than ruining my saints team
