Moving On..

You can sit here and credit any # of reasons for this devestating loss, but after sulking all day, let's take a look ahead..

Oakland (Don't forsee any problem here)

Carolina ? (HUGE GAME)

SD (Last ranked pass D)

BYE

Atlanta (22nd ranked pass D)

Chiefs  (Don't forsee any problem here)

I think this loss provides motivation in the coming weeks..

-The D stuffed the run vs one of the best rushing attacks in the league last night, which gives reason to believe that they will be able to do the same versus SD & ATL

-Shockey's return for Carolina, Colston for SD, and an offense that you would expect better execution out of as I am sure there will be tremendous attention to detail in the next 2 weeks of practice

Like someone on here said before, atleast these tough losses came early, and hopefully will spark this team, which I think will come together after this tough tough loss.. Anyone else feel 7-3 heading into the next Monday Nighter versus GB is a possibilty and we're listening to Kornheiser as annoying as he is praising the run the Saints put together?

I'd really like...

…to share your optimism but making the play-offs seems very unlikely all of a sudden. We’d have to win almost all divisional game till the end of the year and hope that Bucs, Falcons and Carolina don’t play over .500 for the next 8 weeks cause we surely ain’t gonna get a wild card, both going to A NFC East team.

Maybe it’s just the pain and sadness talking but I just don’t see it happening. I’m just wishing tomorrow bring some hope back…

its possible, 6-4 is probably more likely

between Carolina, SD, and Atlanta Id be happy to be 2-1 through those games. Atlanta looks a lot better than expected.

good post, right attitude

It is all within the realm of possibility. But we need to take it one game at a time. I’m pretty sure the Saints are putting last night behind them, today. And getting ready for Oakland.

(Don’t forsee any problem here)

LOL! I like that. Not that it’s already counted as a win, just that it seems the objective can be achieved with the available resources. Good job! Rec this!!!

In 1987

…after a 3-3 start, we ran the table. 12-3, best record in the NFL behind only the winners of the our very own division, the San Francisco 49ers (Fate has always held a soft spot in her cold heart for the Saints).

It has happened before. It can happen again. Like I wrote earlier today, I can see 13-3 as a real possibility. I can also see 2-14. This team, more than anything else, needs to define itself.

And one more thing

One reason to be glad (or at least, not as bummed as you might be otherwise): the Saints are 1-0 in the division. Our destiny is still completely in our own hands, because if we can manage to win all our division games, plus a few others thrown in (like Oakland and Kansas City and Detroit), we will likely win the division. It’s not over yet, by a long shot.

Colston

Does anyone else see Colston being held out until after the bye week? Obviously skipping the SD game that is 2 more weeks of rest.

not optimistic

We need to be 10-6 to have a shot at the playoffs. We have already lost 3 games, we can only lose 3 more. This does not look like an 8-3 team at the moment. I am concerned about the Raiders: short week, the Raiders are perceived as an easy win, AFC opponent/non-divisional game. All these things make me think the Saints may be caught looking ahead to Carolina. If they lose to the Raiders, they can only lose 2 more games the rest of the year. TWO! This game is really a “must win”, I just hope the Saints play it that way.
