Colston and Shockey May Return Against Oakland
Per the Times-Pic.
Finally, some good news on the injury front. Receiver Marques Colston and tight end Jeremy Shockey were both back in practice on a limited basis. They should still be considered questionable for Sunday's game against Oakland, but Coach Sean Payton said he was more optimistic than earlier in the week.
"I was pleased with what I saw today, and I saw more than I expected to see," Payton said. "Both of them actually took reps and moved around pretty good. You know, we'll see tomorrow how they feel, especially when it comes to Jeremy. But Marques looked good."
Jeremy Shockey (groin) and Marques Colston (thumb surgery) were both limited participants in Saints practice Wednesday and could play this week. Sean Payton says both could be ready for the Raiders, which is a great surprise. It sounds like Colston is likely to play if he has no setbacks. Shockey is more questionable. The Saints' secondary receivers could lose snaps.

SP seems like a wait until your 95% before we put you in.
I would say no, but if they do dress but wont play more then 1 or 2 plays

If they're active, someone else won't be
It makes no sense to activate someone if you’re not going to play him. Some on-the-bubble player (like Jo-Lonn Dunbar, for instance) would have to be deactivated to make room for someone to sit on the bench. Why?
If they’re active, they should play. Another reason why Deuce should play more. If he’s well enough to be occupying a spot on the active list, he should pull his weight.

mind games
if you tell the media they MAY play.. and activate them for the game.
Instead of all oaklands practises having been for x scenario they now have to split it up and be ready for X Y and Z. Less time to practice counting 1 person.
you get the idea

absolutely
Although it doesn’t seem like it sometimes, the NFL is VERY competitive. Coaches are always looking for any edge they can get, could make the difference between W or L.
