Raiders @ Saints: Game Predictions
Amazingly, it's already that time of the week again. I love the short week. Shoutout to Satchmo26, yet again, for winning last weeks prediction contest. This is getting a bit ridiculous but at least he changes his avatar frequently so as not to bore us all! You guys all know the deal. 3 predictions. Make them count!

I'm going to nail it right here...
1. Colston returns and catches a lob over someone inside the Red zone (we’ve been practicing these, his finger is better than we thought).
2. Reggie continues on his tear gets over 200 all purpose
3. Saints win comfortably

Does Al Davis still travel to away games? Can he get his walker up the Superdome ramp to the club level??
Good job Satch!
Saints 30, Raiders 16
1) Deuce will have 10-15 touches.
2) JaMarcus Russell will be held to under 155 yards passing.
3) The Raiders will not score a passing touchdown, even considering that Jason David will be covering Javon Walker.
What a shame it is that this once proud and feared franchise is still in a shambles. Even Huggy Bear’s kid can’t save it. I wondered if Al Davis had any heirs so I googled around and found this:
-Q: Your son Mark has been around a lot more recently. What aspect of the organization is he involved in?
-DAVIS: He’s business and perhaps he’s doing some work on stadium. Business and stadium. He doesn’t want to get involved in football. He used to know all the players. He still does. They were his vintage—Cliff Branch and all those guys, Fred Biletnikoff, all those guys.
He never understood how I could let someone go. He just doesn’t want to get into that part of it.
But he will own it some day. That is… if they let me go to my maker.
-Q: You said to somebody that you wanted to win two more Super Bowls and then retire…
-DAVIS: I didn’t say retire. I just want to win two more.
-Q: But could you retire?
-DAVIS: All joking aside, sure.
-Q: It keeps coming up, so Al, how’s your health?
-DAVIS: Other than the quadriceps and a little trouble with the walking, based on total balance, I’m fine. I’m healthy. You’re going to have to have me around for a while.
I’m fine, really. I take all the tests four times a year. I get a check up on everything, echo and all those things. All the blood work, I do that four times a year.
My mother, you know, she lived a long time, 103. I hope nothing happens. Because disease is the one thing, boy I tell you, it’s tough to lick. It’s tough to lick those goddamn diseases. I don’t know why they can’t.
It bothers me they wont let us use… and it doesn’t mean that I’m Republican or Democrat… the stem-cell. I think it could help.
-Q: I don’t think we’ve talked to you since last year when you sold a 20% stake to outside investors for the first time. Can you explain why you did that?
-DAVIS: You should’ve called me. The fact (is that it was for)… estate planning.
-Q: For Mark?
-DAVIS: Well, obviously.

Let's try this again...
After whiffing 0-4 on my first week’s weak attempt at CSC game predix, I feel I am now Chronically addicted to it, and will only get more specific and detailed in them as time passes…
1) I will only make 3 predictions this time :-)
2) Saints win 27-16
3) Mehlaff’s debut stat line – 2 out of 2 short-range FG, and 3 of 3 XP
Then we springboard from that to a Week 7 SERIOUS BIG TIME game against the Panthers (but those predictions will have to wait).

Here we go
1. On a last second field goal attempt by Melhalff to win the game, the ball suspiciously goes flat in mid-flight and falls flat as a pancake, straight down. Saints loose by a point. Forensic tests reveal Ed Hochulli’s fingerprints…
2. Raiders block a Kickoff, and return it for a touchdown.
3. Gumbo inadvertantly trips Reggie on another punt return at the five. Reggie fumbles. Pissed, Reggie punches Gumbo’s head off, revealing none other than….you guessed it: Ed Hochulli.
By the way…I’m not still bitter…

If those things don't happen, then my next guesses are...
1. Much more Deuce…say, 15 for 80
2. David will piss us all off and get a pick 6
3. Payton does a good job of eliminating the penalties this week. We have less than 5…

Predictions
Drew Brees goes 40/55 for 6 TD passes and 1 int, three to Colston, two to Moore, and one to Bush. Meachem practices lining up properly on sideline.
Reggie Bush rushes for 60 yards, catches10 passes for 120 yds and a TD. Oh, and the Raiders punter is smart enough to kick out-of-bounds or face being humiliated on national telivision by Al Davis.
Saints win 52-21 with final points coming from Melhaff with :05 seconds to go in the 4th quarter.

I wish I could predict this well with my fantasy team!
To be fair, my guesses last week were pretty far off, as were everyone elses. We couldn’t have predicted the craziness of that game. I had a feeling Reggie would have an opportunity to return a punt for a TD because the Vikings special teams coverage was reportedly not very good. I guess that was the one guess that put me over the top. I never would have dreamed he could get 2 punt return TDs. Damn!! I wish they had won that game. My crystal ball says:
1. Bush rarely gets an opportunity to return a punt because the Raiders will try to punt them all either out of bounds or far way from him. The Raiders will punt a lot because the Saints D will take away their run game and get good pressure on Russell. Bush will, however, get 2 TDs—1 pass, 1 run.
2. No false start penalties from the O-line this time, else they incur Payton’s fiery wrath and a rain of boos from the home crowd. Hear that Saintsational and anyone else in attendance? Let ’em hear it if they move before the snap.
3. Brees actually gets good production from his receivers this time: 350+ yards, 2 TDs
Hey Stujo! Looks like it’s me and you this week in the Fleaflicker matchups. I’m desperate for a win, so watch out! I’ve already hired a witch doctor, plastered my house with horseshoes, and planted a garden of 4-leaf clovers out back in order to turn my horrible luck around. :-)
Go Saints!!!!

Saints 35, Raiders 24
Brees – 280 yards and 3 TDs
Deuce – 80 yards and 1 TD
Reggie – 80 yards and 1 TD
Colston – plays but doesn’t do much
Shockster – doesn’t play
Jason David – sucks
Jamarcus – 1 INT, 2 TDs, 1 INT
I don’t even know who plays for the raiders so I can’t make more predictions.

It's about time I honor my avatar.
1- Deuce runs over a 100 yds in a 31-21 victory.
2- Saints stay under 5 penalties and have no injuries to report at the end of the game.
3- Grant gets 2 sacks.
And please feel free to give me some challenge on Fun-O-Pool. It’s getting lonely at the top…
