Finally, national media is taking notice of Payton!
This quote was taken from Espn.com TMQ by Greg Easterbrook. Finally, someone is willing to call Payton out on his lopsided playcalling. I'm sick of the free ride he has been getting. I wish someone would actually start asking him tough questions and demand real answers in his press conferences. Plus, I can't believe I posted similar thoughts earlier.
Sour Play-Calling of the Week: New Orleans gained 521 yards Sunday, and lost. One reason was because the Saints' coaches called 61 passes (attempts plus sacks and scrambles) versus just 15 rushes. This kind of play-calling generates great stats, along with L's, in the standings. And please don't tell the New England Patriots that injuries at running back mean you should abandon the run! As for the outbursts on the New Orleans sideline, aren't you glad Jeremy Shockey is not on your team? That's certainly how 31 of 32 NFL franchises feel, and it is unclear why New Orleans does not feel the same way. Thrice-waived New Orleans tight end Billy Miller is a better player than Shockey, and a locker room positive rather than a negative. Eli Manning did not blossom as a quarterback until he was rid of the obligation to force the ball to Shockey in order to stroke Shockey's ego. Now Drew Brees is accumulating great numbers, but trying to force the ball to Shockey is holding back the Saints.

"...trying to force the ball to Shockey is holding back the Saints"
No…actually getting it to Shockey is the problem. Because then he’ll drop it, or fumble it, and then get hurt.
Fire Gary Gibbs!
TMQ - Tuesday morning quarterback
Here is the link. If you have never read his column before it is always very long. He always touches on more than just football. Saints comments are about halfway down the story.

Here's my support!
Before last game…
Shockey? Regardless of my own dislike for the player and the man, you have to admit that wasn’t the best (or necessary) move from the Saints. Wiil it get any better with #88? That would be nice considering we’re at mid-season already. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not doubting Shockey will to play. In fact, not taking time to fully heel is what kept him for being healthy on Sundays since the start of the season. But, in my opinion, that was one case of bad team management
So I ask myself. Is Loomis tough enough to stand up to Payton? Did he want Shockey as much? I hope so because I never saw a pro-sport franchise make it with a two-headed GM.
And I go on…
Total bust
Didn’t bring anything to the team except distraction, drop passes and fumbles at very important moments in past game.
Sorry but still not a buyer. Isn’t that revealing how the Giants won 8 in a row ( including SB) as sonn as Shockey was off the field. Call it a coincidence, I don’t.
Please visit more often, I could use the same support…

it's too soon to say anything about shockey...
His label as a disrupter can’t be shook and although he hasn’t really done anything everyone is jumping on that bandwagon. Until I see him actually act anything near what I seen in NYC or he just doesnt add up then I’m refusing to jump the “Shockey wasn’t a good deal” bandwagon. Granted he does get hurt an awful lot and I don’t know if he’s 100% yet. But there are 7 games left so lets wait and see.
