Saints 30 @ Chiefs 20: View from Section 114
The following was written by Chronic reader and on-location reporter stujo4 who attended the game.

- Another stressful away game. Arrowhead is the loudest stadium in the league, no doubt. Fans and music (classic rock: Stones, AC/DC, Ozzy, and whoever does that Black Betty song.) Post-game KC radio comments: No pass rush, Saints tight ends running free, Glen Dorsey huge disappointment, and Coach Herm Edwards is an idiot. Even the announcers blamed the loss on the coaches, not going for it on 4th down and allowing Brees to run out the clock at the end.
- Saw two other guys with #8 Manning jerseys on. I'm not so special after all.
- Chiefs fans really do border on the obnoxious. They sing the last line of the national anthem as "... and the home of the Chiefs!" even at away games. They do the tomahawk chop like the Seminoles. First downs are screamed out along with the announcer. Gary Glitter's Rock and Roll has a part that is sung: "We're gonna beat the hell out of you. You, you, you you you." I have to say - and this is a pretty big insult to Chiefs fans - I had a better time at Mile High this year. I'm just sayin'....
- My MVP: #23 PT
- I also thought Randall Gay had a good game.
- Usama Young did not. Pick notwithstanding.
1st Quarter
- I saw that interception develop. I said, "Drew won't throw that. Don't throw it Drew!"....OH MY GOD!!! ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH! Now I have to bow down to Sudden, Arrowhead Pride reader and Chiefs fan.
- Payton had another idiot challenge. No one in the stands thought he had a chance. It was a clean catch.
2nd Quarter
- Nice TD for Deuce. Every time his name was announced, there was a scattered encore of "Doooooce" throughout the crowd.
- #97 Charleston had a couple of good plays today. Can't wait to see the game on tape.
- Our Kicker Garrett Hartley had a wind assisted touchback but it still looked good.
3rd Quarter
- I'm seeing a lot of bad decisions by Drew today. What was that throw over a wide open Shockey's head for the incompletion?
- Chasin' David looked bad again today giving up some big plays but the Saints held them to a field goal anyway.
- Devery made a nice jumping catch. Everyone was impressed. Then he dropped it on the next play.
- Later in the quarter the Saints were really pounding them with Pierre and he went on to score. I'm feeling good.
4th Quarter
- WTF, we let Thigpen loose in the secondary and he nearly scores? 35 yard run? Plus an Usama facemask to finish off the play.
- Fans were really starting to get quiet and you could hear the "Dooooce" chants very clearly.
- On the Bowe TD reception was that a cornerback blitz by Gay? Thought he was trying to block the pass and left Usama to not cover him?
- Campbell catches a pass and goes down hurt. I scream "Get up, Mark!" My wife says, "He's not moving. Shut up." He finally gets up after the commercial and the fans give him polite applause. I say "It's OK, he does this all the time."
- Pierre looks very short out on the field. Is he shorter than Reggie?
- With 3:41 remaining the fans start filing out. They're criticized on the radio afterwards but they do this all the time in my experience. Just trying to beat traffic.
- After the Saints field goal they really start filing out. We move down to better seats and start the "Who Dat!?" song with other fans. A good time had by all. All Saints fans anyway.

Hey, leave my man Gary alone!
The Saints are going on a 7-win tear to break into the playoffs. Gary Gibbs saves his job and reputation. And pay no attention to that signature line!

Campbell
You probably couldn’t see it from the stands, but one particular replay angle made Campbell’s injury look pretty serious. His leg bent back the way it’s not supposed to. Who knows what that means for his knee? I guess we’ll find out tomorrow.

Yes, I was at the other end of the field and they did not show a replay. I did see the catch and the tackle, looked normal to me including Campbell not getting up. Hope it’s just a sprain. Seems like he is having a pretty good offensive year, for him.

people are downing this win
Screw them (pardon me on the family-friendly site).
One startibg DE is on IR and the other is facing suspension.
You got blown out by two TDs to your biggest rival last week.
Your two starting corners are on IR.
Your TD leader is out hurt.
Your best blocking tight end goes out hurt near the end. Your highest paid tight end (won"t say best) is consistently hurt, irritable , or both.
You are 0-4, a bad 0-4, on the road (ok, 1-4 including Wembley which we all know was a road game).
Your starting RB is, God love him, a shell of his former self. (People awaiting a Deuce 1300 yard season, forget it).
Your opponent nearly took down the Bucs and Chargers in the last 2 weeks
You are playing in one of the “unique” gameday facilities in the league.
30-20. Wrap it up, I’ll take it. See you in Section 323 Monday night. Not saying we are going to the playoffs or anything, given all the injuries, but I wouldn"t want to be the Packers coming to the Dome Monday night.

It is odd, sitting in the opponent’s stadium with no radio or TV to influence your perception. Plus, I don’t see things the same way other people do. After Drew’s pick, the place erupted (obviously) and I thought once again, “Jeez this is going to be a long day.” I didn’t gain any confidence that the Saints might prevail until the 3rd quarter. Turned to my wife in the first half and said “I’d RATHER be in the Superdome.” That’s the truth.
They played well enough to win, I’ll say that. It’s a W.

Dave, I know I gave you free will to edit my text but....
Our Kicker Garrett Hartley
…should have read “Our kicker Garrick Utley (sic)…” Sorry, you know my bad memory. So I tried to joke my way out of it. For you younger readers:

Garrick Utley worked for NBC News for around 30 years before moving to ABC. He later moved to CNN, where he worked until 2002.

Poor Chefs. Even the Aints can beat them.
Ouch. She is not a believer.

Nice Work, STUJO
I appreciate the shots of you and the family, too. It’s great to see you in the flesh. Maybe we should all post pics of ourselves decked out in our Gameday gear (or is that too girlie?).

thanks, it was fun
Yeah it’s pretty girlie, but Saintsational Dave started it. And then Pukenbowl posted his Target picture frame photo. Yeah, we all should do it when we’re ready.
