Ask The Falcoholic, Part II
I thought I'd head over here before your hatred of all things Atlanta Falcons has had a lot of time to simmer. Here I am, ask me questions, don't treat me too badly, you know the drill.
Ask away, friends! Oh, I'm like thirty words short of the limit. Perhaps if I just keep typing, I will find salvation. I'm hoping that at the very least, I don't get nailed by a snowplow on my way home tonight. That'd be nice.
Hey, what'd you know? I've got enough words! Ask The Falcoholic!

How does it feel?
Gotta hand it to those Falcons—they get the job done, and the Saints don’t. They’re balanced, and the Saints aren’t. They come up with big plays when the game is on the line, and the Saints can’t.
So…can they catch the Panthers and Bucs? Not without some help from the Saints, and I’m not inclined to be that generous. But then, I’m not on the field, am I? So the Falcons may just take what they need.
So how does it feel, having a post-season to look forward to?
Who dat just got dey asses handed to 'em? Who dat? Who dat?

It feels good
But the Falcons fan from years past won’t let me enjoy it until we’ve got a little x next to our name in the standings. It’s still difficult to believe that the team could be this close to the postseason a year after the most wretched squad of my entire life, so I’m shaking that off.
But hey, don’t count those dirty birds before they hatch. We’ve gotta get ready for you guys.

DTF couldn't wait to get back to Da Chronic
Dave TF, do you know if they Falcons will be wearing throwback uniforms at all this year? That red, white and gray look really steams me.
Green Bay safety Nick Collins put it simply: "We got embarrassed."

I love the old unis
But I’m going to have to get back to you on the scheduling of throwbacks. I’ll do some research (read: drinking) and get back to ya later in the week.

I didn't watch the game, but I would have noticed
…because their new uniforms are so gay looking. What was wrong that they had to change them? Oh, the stink of futility, that’s right…

OMG, Please!
Love the Falcons’ red-red-silver unis of yesteryear.
Though I’m a Falcons fan, I truly love you New Orleans guys. My family lore has it that my paternal grandmother relocated to San Francisco following a scandalous affair with New Orleans’ Mayor in the early 20th century.
Good luck to youse guys for an overdue economic recovery. Go Falcons!

I just read the Rotoworld.com summaries of the Falcon players' game yesterday
I’m impressed. This team is a LOT better than I thought it would be this year (understatement). 4-12 last year, coach quit after 13 games.
Dave TF, how the hell did this happen? There does not seem to be a major weakness at any position. Did your GM mastermind all of this? (Here’s your chance to brag a little on your team and you deserve to, after what the Falcons have been through.)

You got me
It’s really been a transformational draft, a new and tough coaching philosophy and a willingness to shed dead weight in buckets from this roster. The Falcons have more talent than they had a year ago and have a much better front office and coaching staff to back that up.
You do have to give new GM Thomas Dimitroff a lot of credit. The guy arguably didn’t miss on a single pick until the fifth round, and his draft would look even better if LT Sam Baker had been healthy enough to play all year. The signing of Turner, too, was nothing short of brilliant.
I’d say it’s 75% great moves and 25% blind luck.
