Behind the Steel Curtain Scores Big Interview
Some of you might have noticed this headline in the upper right corner but for those that haven't, SB Nations Steelers blog, Behind the Steel Curtain, interviewed team owner Art Rooney, Jr.
This is not the first time BTSC has gotten a pretty amazing interview and its not the first time an SB Nation blog has done the same. But in light of recent conversations here at CSC about taking it to the next level and trying to gain further access to become a more legitimate source for Saints info, I thought this was something definitely worth highlighting. Again, certain organizations are much tighter in there PR department than others (honestly, I would have thought the Steelers would be one of them) but as society continues to move forward the hope is that blogs such as those within SB Nation will be taken more serious and more opportunities like the ones BTSC have been able to secure will become available.
If any of you out there ever realize a chance for such an opportunity for CSC, please let me know!
This is the end of our public service announcement. Gary Gibbs sucks.

Well, there goes any chance for a Gary Gibbs interview :-)
Yeah, I’ve noticed articles from some of the other SB Nation blogs listed on the team sites of si.com. How is it they get recognized on the Sports Illustrated site and we don’t? Is it because they get more traffic on the team blogs with bigger fan bases? I doubt the Saints fan base will ever get as high as the Steelers, Eagles, or the hated Cowboys until we win a Super Bowl or two.
Go Saints!!!!

here's an example of what I'm saying, and I'll try to put this delicately
Pat Yasinskas

Presumably, this guy (whoever he is) gets paid to produce this…. blog. Are we to presume that because it has ESPN on it, that it is more official, or more inside, or just plain better?
I’ll just say, I’m not impressed.

OK, now I'm annoyed. Presumably.
Yasinskas joined ESPN.com in January 2008 after covering the Carolina Panthers for The Charlotte Observer for nine seasons. He began his journalism career with The Tampa Tribune in 1990.
How can you write a blog about the NFC South??? Ridiculous. Yashinko, you’re dead to me.

The trick there
Is that he’s actually just a reporter who updates his own page throughout the day. Blogging can take many forms, but his is a lot closer to straight-up journalism. My major issue with Yasinskas is that he doesn’t seem to have the same grasp of the Falcons and Saints as he does the Panthers and Bucs, as I believe you’ve highlighted above.
Cool last name, though.

one more thing and then I'm not going to post any more today I promise
Dave, maybe if you acted like a whining little girl, overstating your credentials and accomplishments, bombarding people with interview requests until they were sick of you, maybe they would grant you one. But I wouldn’t want to read it because it would have to be a softball, puff piece so that no one gets offended. You think that Yasinkos guy ever pissed anybody off except me? Not bloody likely.. (Jerry: That’s the worst cockney accent I’ve ever heard in my life.)
