this definately isn’t the ‘07 Falcons we’re playing….

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 12:38 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

We have to stop them on third down

Their receivers are going to hurt us all day

can’t believe how stout our run defense is, but can’t stop any qb in the pass defense

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 12:43 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

McCray

Actually making a play – not used to that from our DEs

by SaintBevo on Nov 9, 2008 12:43 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

We have no pressure

and our CBs can’t cover.

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 12:44 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Aaron Glenn

Are you kidding me? Is that the best he can do?

by SaintBevo on Nov 9, 2008 12:44 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Yep

That is it. Gibbs should know and get him help to defend by doubling or blitzing.

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 12:45 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

WIth gas prices dropping

I might drive down to New Orleans and take Gibbs out.

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 12:44 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

that deep ball Ryan threw, was grossly underthrown as well… No reason, Glenn shouldn’t have time to break up that pass

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 12:46 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

OK boys

We need a time consuming drive to give Gibbs time to make those famous adjustments

by SaintBevo on Nov 9, 2008 12:47 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

maybe I won’t be waiting til halftime to get that pack of Ciggs.. :-|

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 12:49 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

that’s what they have to do, knock Roddy and Jenkins on their asses right at the line

"Coach Payton REALLY needs to string together some wins."

by stujo4 on Nov 9, 2008 12:50 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

I was gonna ask earlier…. Why Roby on kickoffs??? Why not Devery?

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 12:50 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

I thought that too. I can only assume they don’t trust DH to field the ball every time.

"Coach Payton REALLY needs to string together some wins."

secondary yelling at each other

I’m assuming that Gibbs isn’t within yelling distance?

or is it Miller time? Billy that is

by MobileSaint on Nov 9, 2008 12:52 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

I’m thinking singular… Miller light!

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 12:53 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

We can nevery convert 3rd and short

Why not a quick hitter to Shockey, what did we bring him here for.

Jamaal Brown Sucks

when he isn’t holding, he’s getting turnstiled

by SaintBevo on Nov 9, 2008 12:54 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Ok…only an 8 point game.. could be a whole lot worse

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 12:54 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

we are within a TD

and a famous Reggie Bush end around 2-pt conversion. Oops, nevermind

by MobileSaint on Nov 9, 2008 12:55 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

We could be down 21-6 had atlanta scored after the INT

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 12:55 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

D is going to have to blitz more

We cannot cover them with rushing 4 anyway so why not at least put some presssure on the QB. Gibbs needs to dial it up a little bit.

by SpindianSaints on Nov 9, 2008 12:58 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

But we Don't blitz..

We probably blitz less then any other team in the NFL

rotoworld.com:

As a healthy inactive, Meachem has fallen a long way from the preseason hype. The returns of Marques Colston and David Patten and the emergence of Lance Moore and Devery Henderson have left him without an offensive role.

Double Abraham

evaluate Shockey as a Saint 5 years from now??? Payton won’t last that long and neither will JS

"Coach Payton REALLY needs to string together some wins."

by stujo4 on Nov 9, 2008 1:14 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

How about this

move Brown to RT, start our backup LT (whose name escapes me, but they always talk about how much they like).

by SaintBevo on Nov 9, 2008 1:11 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Harrington can’t play QB worth a shit… Can he play DB?

that catch is coming back, unfortunately

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 1:18 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Shockey was in the backfield doubling Abraham.

looks like it’s ciggarettes time

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 1:23 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Why are they kneeling?

Just throw it deep and the DBs can’t cover.

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 1:25 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Kinda weird

We have a little problem with holding, it seems.

by Dave the Falconer on Nov 9, 2008 1:26 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

He might not

His injury history makes me really skittish.

by Dave the Falconer on Nov 9, 2008 1:30 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Good

cause he has owning Brown

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 1:30 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

You've probably noticed

That he’s the only pass-rushing threat we have. If he goes down, Brees should have plenty of time.

by Dave the Falconer on Nov 9, 2008 1:32 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Yep

CBs that can cover and break up passes

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 1:33 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

We made a change this week

That I think has helped a lot. The Falcons sat Brent Grimes in favor of Domonique Foxworth, who is bigger and has better coverage instincts.

by Dave the Falconer on Nov 9, 2008 1:35 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

will smith

absent from the stat sheet again. at least McCray has 1 tackle

they were about to run an old Steelers, Kordell Steward type play there.

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 1:51 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

burn them timeouts, falcons!

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 1:51 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Mike Smith likes to burn 'em

They keep him warm on the sidelines.

by Dave the Falconer on Nov 9, 2008 1:53 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

my bad

nfl.com erroneously said it was a 0 yard punt. that’ll put a dent in one’s average

by MobileSaint on Nov 9, 2008 1:52 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

that spot was generous

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 1:54 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Ref conspiracy

Play the rest of the game with 2 timeouts.

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 1:55 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

payton, obviously picking his spots to coach…. throws the redflag on what would be at most an upcoming 4th & 3 inches.. just so it can be nelegated when the falcons go for it on 4th & inches….whata job Coach!!!

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 1:56 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

by Dave the Falconer on Nov 9, 2008 2:02 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

You know

I’ve got a lot of other things I could be doing instead of watching this bullshit effort. Gibbs #&out is about the next we can hope for here

by SaintBevo on Nov 9, 2008 1:59 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

You guys know the standings

If we lose this game, I am afraid we are looking at another 8-8

by SpindianSaints on Nov 9, 2008 2:01 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Do you think it is him

Or is it more about our personnell

by SpindianSaints on Nov 9, 2008 2:03 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Both

Gibbs has the most control and he must go.

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 2:04 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Coaching is the most important factor

we’ve had many different players and problems are always the same.

by SaintBevo on Nov 9, 2008 2:05 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Our D-line

is getting completely owned – I mean like prison rape owned

by SaintBevo on Nov 9, 2008 2:04 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

YES

now our best DB is down

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 2:04 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

good stop!!! we needed that.

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 2:04 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

if MM goes down, with what looks like a leg injury, we can just replace him with another scrub in our secondary & it’ll make no difference

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 2:05 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

After all that

we’re only down 2 scores. We can do this.

YES WE CAN
YES WE CAN

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 2:08 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

I know we can score twice...

but I have NO faith that we can stope them for any length of time

by SaintBevo on Nov 9, 2008 2:09 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Dangerous

Roby will be released next

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 2:09 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

If the falcons do what they’ve done all season, their offense should stumble in this second half… We need some scores, but as stated, by someone earlier this week…Payton is something like 0-17 when trailing in the 4th quarter…

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 2:09 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Whoa

You guys have Courtney Roby? When did that happen?

by Dave the Falconer on Nov 9, 2008 2:09 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

That's it

I’m getting drunk!

by FrenchFreak on Nov 9, 2008 2:11 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

We cant even get a first down

so much for payton’s offense.

by SpindianSaints on Nov 9, 2008 2:11 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

um

first post but, can we just fire gibbs, loomis, and the training staff after this game? this is getting old

by fruly on Nov 9, 2008 2:13 PM CST reply actions   2 recs

Nobody

and I mean nobody showed up for that game

by FrenchFreak on Nov 9, 2008 2:16 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 2:17 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Never thought I'd say this

but how about FireSeanPayton.com?

by SaintBevo on Nov 9, 2008 2:19 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Oh I know

but this type of complete embarassment when your season is on the line speaks to lack of discipline, preparation and coaching. Wheels could be coming off

by SaintBevo on Nov 9, 2008 2:23 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Who else would you bring in.

It is not like a coaching change is going to the change the fact that ten times ou of ten Shanle would have been beat by Norwood on that play. We just do not have the players to compete on defense.

We need to cut Charles Grant, maybe even Will Smith and start relaoding thru draft choices. Porter looked like a player, play Usuma and see if he has anything. We need to look at saftey as well because of them stink.

by SpindianSaints on Nov 9, 2008 2:22 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Not just one play

It’s been the whole season so far. Questionable play calls and personnel decisions.

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 2:23 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Totally disagree

You can’t just blame the players. Good goaches make mediocre players look good; bad coaches make mediocre players look crappy

by SaintBevo on Nov 9, 2008 2:25 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I would like to know what game film and scouting reports

Gibbs and his defensive staff went over to prepare for this game. Because coming off of a bye, we should have been prepared for everything and had a plan to disrupt Matty Ice.

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 2:20 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

This is the Reason

I declined to go to buffalo wild wings with my friends …
Nothing worse then sitting at a sports bar, watching your team get smoked & getting clowned by your cronies

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 2:20 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

This just in

Matty Ice outplaying Cool Brees

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 2:21 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Most important game of the season

and that’s what we got from our team? Just can’tt blame it all on Gibbs and Payton

by FrenchFreak on Nov 9, 2008 2:22 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

YES WE CAN

Ultimately it’s their responsibility to prepare the players both mentally and physically for the upcoming game, they didn’t do it today. Gibbs hasn’t done a good job at anything this year, not to mention last year. Fire his ass.

has no faith in the defense or Gibbs to stop the Falcons. Hopefully, this means Gibbs will be gone at the end of the season.

Yep…. Bosselli, I dont like ya, but you’re right… now they’ve got us backed up

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 2:40 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Payton should’ve looked at the Falcons tendencies to fold up camp in the 2nd half & not panicked… Instead, he’s relying solely on his offense to get him back in the game

by dell00 on Nov 9, 2008 2:42 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Where’s the flag?? Looked like he was hit early on that one

David Patten

haven’t heard his name in a while

by SaintBevo on Nov 9, 2008 2:44 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

only 17 rushes

makes since now, but not earlier

by SaintBevo on Nov 9, 2008 2:46 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

gotta go for it again

Pierre Thomas

I know it doesn’t make sense in this game, but I remain convinced that he would be a great feature back for you guys. Just my (worthless) two cents.

by Dave the Falconer on Nov 9, 2008 2:48 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

The problem

is that Payton would rather throw 60 some odd times than run the ball.

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 2:50 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

How bad are we?

Falcons’D looks like the Titans

by FrenchFreak on Nov 9, 2008 2:48 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Look at their defense

That is the difference between us and the rest of the division

by SpindianSaints on Nov 9, 2008 2:52 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Colston

is not 100% yet. He has missed some catches that he normally makes.

See ya guys….
Nice game SAINTS!

The announcer

just went ahead of me mentionning how Drew is keeping his quest alive. Malaise…

by FrenchFreak on Nov 9, 2008 3:09 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Yes

Something to look forward to

by Steve the fan on Nov 9, 2008 3:09 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

In fact

“Malaise” means being very uncomfertable with that much of a kick in the ass but number 9 still gets to shine in NFL ranking….

Sorry you guys had to be on the other end of that

My best wishes for your defense going forward and may you ALWAYS destroy the Bucs.

Scary part?

The best team won today. Think your greatest asset was loosing Petrino, not Vick. We’ve been outplayed AND outcoached….

by FrenchFreak on Nov 9, 2008 3:14 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Mike Smith

Is turning out to be a very good coach for us. Losing Petrino and picking him up was like crashing your Pinto and getting a Porsche.

Thanks Dave. Enjoy your season, it’s a good one.

"Coach Payton REALLY needs to string together some wins."

Thanks

And better luck to you guys in the future.

Well it is official

we suck – sitcj a fork in us, we’re done.

We’re going to learn over the next 7 weeks who wants to be here and who doesn’t.

by SaintBevo on Nov 9, 2008 3:10 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

We're also going to learn

If Payton can keep this team together or if we need to start the death watch

by SaintBevo on Nov 9, 2008 3:18 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

At least

my girlfriend wanna be is pretty happy about me having some free time on upcoming sundays….
