"Yeah, it did surprise me a little bit," said Bush, who ran three times for zero yards. "Normally when it rains, you figure you have more of an advantage with the running game. Surprised? A little bit. We just run the plays that are called."

Sounds like
the RB department is throwing Payton under the bus.

Glad to see somebody on this team has the guts to criticize Payton…but it is a bit surprising that it is Bush.

wow, he's blabbing to anyone with a microphone or notepad
Don’t ask me, ask Coach. His gameplan, not mine. His plays, not mine. Boss says do it, we try to do it. Even if it’s stupid.
What’s that?.. uh…PLAYoffs? Don’t talk about…Playoffs? You kiddin’ me? Playoffs? I just hope we can win a GAME.

Consider a divorce
Is Bush tired of working for Payton? Maybe he’d like to go to a team with a commitment to the run and a dominating line. What would happen if we straight-up swapped Bush for Brandon Jacobs…other than Jacobs’ average plummeting by 2 yards and Bush becoming a Super Bowl MVP?

Run the Ball with PT and live with it
Brandon Jacobs is averaging 5.1 yards per carry. Pierre Thomas is averaging 4.6 yards per carry. These are this year’s stats. Last year PT averaged 4.8. Jacobs is a career 4.8 yds per carry….on a team that stresses the running game. If there were a commitment on this team to run the ball, do you think PT’s stats would go up or down?? I say clearly at lease .5 yards up. Now, Reggie is a different story. If we switched Reggie for Jacobs, Jacobs avg, if it went down, would be almost nothing. Reggie, on the other hand, his avg may not go up. He is inconsistent and lthough explosive, is avg is low and he doesn’t propel an offense steadily. That’s why we never know what our phenomenal offense is going to do. For a number 1 rated offense, we are very undependable.
My point is our O-line is very capable in the running game. When you pass 47 times, you play an inconsistent RB who loses yardage often, and you run sporadically, you get sub par results. I am a big Deuce fan, but PT at this juncture should get 22-25 touches and live with it. His stats have earned him that. He has been the only consistent back in two years.

Say What?
Are you seriously suggesting that his rushing average would go DOWN with the giants? Bush does make bad decisions sometimes when running the ball, so do lots of explosive backs, but the main problem with our rushing game is our o=line and our coaching. What did bush have, like 3 rushing attempts on Sunday? On at least one of the Jamaal Brown got posterized by the DE who met Bush in the backfield. If you’re suggesting that Ahmad Bradshaw or Derrick Ward can be effective backs for the Giants, but Bush cannot, then I’d like to know …what color is the sky in your world?

Guys...forget about getting Jacobs
There is no way in HELL that the Giants will let him go…
DEUCE or DIE!!!

It wasn't a serious suggestion on my part
…just an illustration of continuing futility. I think Phillinwood just took that ball and ran with it…and made some excellent points.

Jacobs is great, but injury-prone
I’d straight-up trade Reggie for a healthy Brandon Jacobs or Steven Jackson. The downside to those big, bruising backs is that their running style comes with injuries that cause them to miss games here and there. Hell, I’d trade everyone but Brees for “All Day” Adrian Peterson.
I think it’s great that Reggie is voicing his dissent about the MIA run game. Maybe Payton will wise up. In a way, I think Payton may already be wising up that Reggie will never repay in production the incredible monetary investment the organization has made in him. As a result, maybe Payton has lost confidence in his running backs. This would be stupid of course because Deuce still has some thunder left, Reggie would be great if only Payton would stop putting him in awkward situations, and Pierre has shown to have both the thunder and the lightning at times. Let’s just face it—Payton is an idiot.
Go Saints!!!!

this could happen...

Except it would be a different team, like the Patriots or someone else with a good line. It’s not impossible, his contract is contigent upon his production, they could let him go.

Are you referring to Bush or Jacobs?
…because seriously, I can’t see Bush going as long as Payton and Loomis are both here.
