Anybody there?
I’m never the first on this thread.
Three years of deteriorating results is enough. Replace Gary Gibbs!
I hate to say this, but
I’m kind of getting tired of the Brees Chant before games.
It’s lost the umph it had initially
WHO DAT
question
How can i navigate this andromeda thing? I want to watch the game on my computer.

I did, too
But we got the Gibbs 3 and Out.

"Unable to make the catch"
Why do announcers always say “unable to make the catch” when they really mean that the receiver simply missed it?
Three years of deteriorating results is enough. Replace Gary Gibbs!
That was a good Saints drive
except for that last pass by Drew.

Dave, How's that Rams game going?
LOL, But at least you are making the playoffs.

True that
You guys will be back in business with one quality defensive back and some tweaks to the mindset of your coaching staff. The NFC South is going to be tough for a very long time.

Guys, I think this one is over
The Panthers will just continue to ram it down our throats and eat time while they’re at it.
Pukenbowl is right: the Saints are phoning in this one. I’m afraid this entire team needs to be torn down and rebuilt for 2009, and I’m not convinced Payton and Loomis are the men to do it.
Three years of deteriorating results is enough. Replace Gary Gibbs!
Let's put it this way
If your coach can’t figure out how to effectively use Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush in the same backfield, he shouldn’t be your coach.
With all that
the main problem is and was our defense.

How are these guys on the chain gang?
Old and ouyt of shape. The NFL is going to kill one of them
I blog the Carolina Panthers at www.catscratchreader.com
Dudes are taking shots
I think the guys are from the individual team.

Who's the MVP candidate in this game?
D-Will has 143 yds rushing to Brees 137 passing. Who’s the MVP candidate in this game?
I’ll go away now.

I thought you had to solve their riddle
by Steve the fan on Dec 28, 2008 1:38 PM CST up reply actions
That's probably true
When I was young, we had to feed them and then fight them to the death. And it was uphill both ways!
I think it depends on the type of troll
Bridge, Mtn or cave?
I blog the Carolina Panthers at www.catscratchreader.com
Who's the MVP in this game?
How about that 11-headed monster known as the Saints’ defense, who have allowed Williams to rush for nearly 10 yards a carry. Do you really think he’s that good, or that the Saints’ D is that bad?
There…riddle solved.
Three years of deteriorating results is enough. Replace Gary Gibbs!
Oh please
He’s been averaging 5.6, which IS a damn good average. But it’s not nearly as good as the Saints’ run defense is bad today. I could tackle better than them.
Three years of deteriorating results is enough. Replace Gary Gibbs!
Me too
And I’m widely known for bouncing off of running backs and rolling 15 yards downfield, Tecmo Bowl style.
When you're down by 20,
it makes sense to pass more.
If we had a fucking defense, we probably would run more.
WHO DAT
I thought that, too but look at the play by play
A lot of passes before we were down.

The Rams beat the Cowboys earlier this season
when the Cowboys took them lightly. The Falcons better get it going.
I blog the Carolina Panthers at www.catscratchreader.com
I dunno what's going on
He hasn’t been as poised the last few weeks. They just need to get him on track for the playoffs, possibly by recharging his atomic battery giving him a pep talk.
This defense
needs to be torn down and completely rebuilt.
Three years of deteriorating results is enough. Replace Gary Gibbs!
perhaps, in the grand scheme of things
it is better to get lit up. A good defensive effort would’ve given cover to Payton if he wanted to keep Gibbs
If Gibbs is still here next year
Will y’all testify at the murder trial that I was driven to insanity by his lack of any defensive philosophy or scheme or identity?
Well, now I think Drew actually has a chance to break the record
no way, we run the ball, and we will play catch up the rest of the game.
WHO DAT
Actually, that might be a bad thing
It could confirm Payton in his passerrhea.
Three years of deteriorating results is enough. Replace Gary Gibbs!
More comments from Panthers and Falcons fans than the Saints.
Seattle, the world's worst sports city.
Thank you SeaHawk fan
we are loved by all

Since this means I'm screwed in the prediction contest
FIRE GIBBS!
Seattle, the world's worst sports city.
I think I know the answer
But for my own edification, is it the personnel on defense, Gibbs, or both that you guys think urgently needs to go?
Gibbs is worse
Personnel needs improvement, but defensive issues remain the same despite many different players
Both
Gibbs doesn’t miss tackles. Gibbs doesn’t phone in entire games (well, he does, technically, but you know what I mean).
Seriously: if I were Payton and Loomis, at the end of today there would be about 20 pink slips in the locker room.
That said, Gibbs should be run out of town on a rail.
Three years of deteriorating results is enough. Replace Gary Gibbs!
Gibbs
There is no clear rhyme or reason to his defense.

Let's see: who has to go?
Smith, Shanle, Gay, David, Harper, Bullocks…who else?
Three years of deteriorating results is enough. Replace Gary Gibbs!
I'm ok with Gay sticking around
He’s fine as a 2nd or 3rd CB
Smith, Grant, Shanle, Bullocks all can be gone as far as I’m concerned. Throw Stinchcomb in there for good measure
Lot of holy crap all of a sudden
Three years of deteriorating results is enough. Replace Gary Gibbs!
Another first down for Deuce
Told you so, Sean. You putz.

not a toss sweep.

Deuce vs. DeAngelo
DeAngelo Williams is having a great game against a piss-poor bunch of defenders. Deuce is having a pretty damn good one against a team of fired-up, win-the-division bunch of defenders. If we would use Deuce as much as Carolina uses Williams, we might be able to accomplish the same thing: win.
But no: getting Marino’s record is far too important.
Three years of deteriorating results is enough. Replace Gary Gibbs!
Anyone notice the DB holding Miller on that replay
It’s bullshit that they haven’t had any PI calls
WHO DAT
God, don't say things like that
He might hear you.
Three years of deteriorating results is enough. Replace Gary Gibbs!
NFL.com is calling that touchdown a pass
It looked like a lateral to me. Guys? What did I miss?
Three years of deteriorating results is enough. Replace Gary Gibbs!
Sacks would be nice
Of course, sacks are what you keep your pair in, so I don’t see us getting any.
Three years of deteriorating results is enough. Replace Gary Gibbs!
This is
What I like to see. As the Beastie Boys would say, keep it going, keep it going, keep it going full speed!
They should let them return the kick off for a TD
that way we get the ball back with time for Brees to break the record. The win doesn’t matter.
How many times has two Saints DBs been around the ball and let the receiver catch it?
I say at least 5 times a game.
Steve Smith makes that catch every time
So why do teams ALWAYS let him?
Three years of deteriorating results is enough. Replace Gary Gibbs!
Whew...I was about to catch major $h^%3 for sure
I blog the Carolina Panthers at www.catscratchreader.com
This game shows that our offense is good enough
the defense sucks.
Also, the Panthers are faggots for short-punting.
Good luck in the off-season
And hell of a year for Brees. I hope you guys get what you’re wishing for (but please don’t actually kill anyone).
Too late
you are already a material witness.

Somebody tell me
what just happened? Why not Hail MAry? Where was the Payton playbook fllled with tricks?
This will not be Deuce’s last year.
Fire Gary Gibbs-get a Tampa 2 D Coach
C’mon everybody let’s vent!
Congrats to the Saints on a 1 game improvement
Now ponder all the games you lost by less than 7 points and fix your D b/c the offense is awesome.
Billy Miller is better than Shockey on a bad day. He earned the job.
Drew Brees
He needs to have a brand-new team attached to him.
Three years of deteriorating results is enough. Replace Gary Gibbs!
Ending Consistent!
In a season that crushed hopes and dreams, going into the last game only to come up 16 yards short despite opportunities to pick up those yards is just the icing on the seasonal depression cake.
Last week leaving Drew in with the game decided and not passing at all, and then this week, 1 play left against a deep prevent, too far for a hail mary, you just pretty much throw it away. At least go to the middle with a short pass and try to make someone miss and maybe, just maybe get the passing record which is all we really had left to hope for from this season. The football gods were willing you to the passing record. 1 second left and somehow the ball goes out of bounds, and like every other time the opportunity door opened this season, we just decide not to walk in it.
This season ends like all the others, so close but so far (from everything). Consistent.
