4. Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints: The Falcons won the Nov. 9 game against the Saints in the Georgia Dome 34-20 and showed the nation they are playoff contenders. Since then, the Saints' defense has deteriorated because of injuries and off-the-field problems.
Cornerback Mike McKenzie blew out his knee in that Falcons game, and the diuretic-related suspension of defensive end Will Smith means the Saints have lost almost all of their pass rush. Defensive end Charles Grant also is out for the season. Overall, the Saints have had nine defensive starters miss games, including four who are out for the season. The Falcons are catching the Saints at the right time.

Can anyone tell me how the Saints are 3.5 point favorites (according to funofficepools.com) in this game?
My cool new "Angel of Vengeance" swoop avatar is in honor of my support for an improving defense that I hope will continue to improve...

The italicized emphasis at the end of that quote is mine
We’ve got the Falcons (and the rest of the league) right where we want them…
Saints officials have cited Grant's and Smith's number of quarterback hurries as evidence of their quietly productive play...Technically, Smith "hurried" Jeff Garcia on his 39-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Bryant on Sunday.

That’s 2.5 for home field and .5 for Drew Brees… Purdue. I am really mad at my brother.
