Falcons @ Saints: Game Predictions

dell00

Congrats to dell00 for his three perfect predictions that he got in at the last minute. Take a look at what I can only assume is his baby. Cute. Any more newborn avatars and I am going to have start charging for day care.

It's 2pm (in New Orleans) on Friday. Do you know where you 3 predictions are?

Happy days are here again, Payton is not such a bad guy after all and that Gibbs Gumbo is kinda tasty

Saints 27, Falcons 24

1) Lance extends his streak of games with at least one touchdown to 7.
2) Saints have 100+ yds rushing as a team.
3) Roddy White has some catches and yards but does not score on the Saints D.

What’s that?.. uh…PLAYoffs? Don’t talk about…Playoffs? You kiddin’ me? Playoffs? I just hope we can win a GAME.

I swear I was just about to post this

Dave’s post has been up for 25 minutes and still no sign of Dave The Falcking Falcoholic Falconer. He must be out sick. And we all know what I mean by “sick”: “Working late”.

And stop mocking my predictions, DTF. I’ll burn you worse than JasonBLT.

What’s that?.. uh…PLAYoffs? Don’t talk about…Playoffs? You kiddin’ me? Playoffs? I just hope we can win a GAME.

Saints get revenge

1) Suspensions are put on hold till legal issues are resolved…Smith and Deuce play!!

2) Saints get revenge, win the game by more than the spread. (which is 3.5. I think.)

3) I’m with Puke…Shockey gets into the endzone…

THAT'S a keeper

Congratulations, dell00. Be warned: college happens in the blink of an eye.

As for predictions:

1. I think the Saints’ defensive strategy will be based on stopping Michael Turner. That can be done, and I think it will be. But whether or not that leaves Matt Ryan a free hand is no better than a coin flip, seeing as how our secondary is different every week. Who’s playing now?

2. Drew doesn’t often have bad games twice in a row, and he plays better at home. My guess is a completion percentage better than 60%, over 300 yards and 3 TDs.

3. That should be enough to win. 31-24. But I’m not going to rag on Dave the Falconer anymore. Dude has me spooked.

Predictions

I am tired of the weak-ass “Saints score a TD” or “Brees has a good game” or “Saints win” predictions. Mix it up a little and have fun with it.

1. Jamaal Brown will have three holding penalties, 1 in the first, 2 in the fourth during the furious Saints rally from 2 scores down only to come up short on a Brees INT (that’s right the Saints lose, but it means better draft position for the WR we will take in the first round; And no, I am not bitter at all).
2. Brees will be 32 of 47 for 328 yds, 3 TDs, 1 INT, 2 sacks (even with the holds), and 3 rushes for 12 yds with one of the rushes being for a first down during the fourth quarter rally.
3. Payton will call a sweep toss or wide receiver end reverse on third and 1 for reasons only he knows.

by Steve the fan on Dec 5, 2008 3:02 PM CST reply actions

Haha, I'd love to give this a try since it's become too easy to predict my own team's incompetence

1. Reggie Bush gets at least 2 punt returns of 20 yards or more.

2. Drew Brees throws for over 350 yards and successfully completes passes to 6+ different receivers.

3. The Saints win 34-27.

Saints officials have cited Grant's and Smith's number of quarterback hurries as evidence of their quietly productive play...Technically, Smith "hurried" Jeff Garcia on his 39-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Bryant on Sunday.

Predictions (Saints 31, Falcons 24)

1. The Saints get at least 120 rushing yards.

2. Drew Brees finishes with a higher QB rating than Matt Ryan.

3. Lance Moore catches a TD pass.

by hakimdropstheball on Dec 6, 2008 2:30 AM CST reply actions

predictions

1 meachem TD
2 brees over 360 yards
3 saints 4 tds or more

by RogerMilla on Dec 6, 2008 4:45 AM CST reply actions

Saints hang on to win 21-16

1) Falcons score on 3 Elam FGs and 1 Turner TD run

2) Secondary has awesome 2nd game vs. IceIceBabyRyan and holds him to under 200 yards and just over 50% completion rate

3) Bush fumble with 2:15 to go in the fourth Q causes Jason David to have to save the day by breaking up a “Big Ben” hail mary pass on the Falcons final play (finally reversing some of those bad Steve Bartkowski hail mary losses to the Falcons in the late 70’s early 80’s when we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory).

can i cheat a little ?

and make my 1st pick a meachem OR shockey TD ( not exactly cheating as neither really likely ) ??

Football is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom.

Predictions

1) Drew gets 280+ yds.
2) Michael Turner scores at least one TD.
3) Will Smith gets a sack.

  • * *

I predict I’ll be wearing black and gold on Sunday while cooking a pot of my chicken and sausage gumbo (I like to add tasso to da pot). I also predict I’ll be sampling my oatmeal stout homebrew and will have to be woken up in da 4th quarter.

Close game on the way

Saints 31 Falcons 30
1. Decue and PT find the endzone
2. Bush returns a punt for more than 25 yrds
3. Robi has a big return for a TD

It's better to die like a lion, than to live like a pussy

by #23fan on Dec 6, 2008 6:14 PM CST reply actions

Saints look uninspired, but hopefully squeak out the win at home

1. Pierre gets most carries, 14+ for around 65 yards
2. Bush another ineffective day, low rushing avg, a couple of dropped passes,
loses ground in punt returns
3. Deuce, if you blink you won’t even spot him on maybe two carries during the game.
Both Pierre and Bush will be stopped in short yardage situations, prompting the normal Monday question and answer sessions with Payton about Deuce’s status.

by Ditka'sGhost on Dec 7, 2008 8:46 AM CST reply actions

Do or die time for the Saints

1. The Saints D contains Turner “the Burner” by holding him to under 60 rush yards, but Matt Ryan will light up the secondary with 250+ passing yards and 3 TDs.
2. Pierre Thomas rushes for close to 100 yards and scores 2 TDs; Once again and much to the dismay of the fans in attendance, Payton barely uses Deuce.
3. Shockey finally scores a Saints TD and puts up close to 80 yards.

The one and only time I picked the Saints to lose this season, they totally destroyed the Pack at home. So, I’m picking them to lose today in hopes they repeat that performance against the Falcons.

Go Saints!!!!
