Payton Makes First 4th Quarter Comeback

Recently, a lot has been made of Payton's coaching ability, particularly the fact that he had yet to win a game that the Saints were losing after three quarters of play so I am surprised no one has mentioned this yet.
Correct me if I am wrong but the Saints were losing 17-16 when the 4th quarter began this Sunday and we know the Saints pulled this one out. Doesn't this victory over the Falcons qualify as Sean Payton's first 4th quarter comeback as head coach of the Saints? That should now bring his record when trailing after three quarters to1-17.
Congratulations coach Payton.

FINALLY! I complained about the 4th quarter problems with PT a lot to you guys. Finally I have nothing to say. Yeah, I wish they’d done this sooner. But if they learn to win now, even if they don’t make the playoffs this year, it gives me major hope for next season…
I noticed that PT and some other people didn’t celebrate with teammates as much—trying to get individual attention. I hate that. It’s pretty clear that you can’t win in the NFL if you don’t have some serious team effort and chemistry.
I think Colston will come around. Not really sure what is wrong with him now.

You mean after a score, or after the game? My video was pretty choppy.
We all noted the “comeback” in the game thread. M-E even updated his signature. Payton is no Cardiac Kid but it’s a step in the right direction.

I felt like both, but I only caught the highlights.
I’m sorry I missed the game. Stupid school gets in my way sometimes.

At Last!!!
Payton finally committed to the run and it paid off. Wish he had done it sooner. I think establishing the run early is the underlying reason for the comeback- the defense wasn’t so tired and the offense had confidence that they COULD run the ball because of their early success. That confidence is really important and not a day too soon because we will have to run the ball in Chicago thursday PM. But what a relief that we have finally found the recipe to run the ball. Unfortunately it doesn’t include Deuce, but it is what it is and it is hard to deny that we have PT for the consistency, pounding and the ability to break a big one and we have Reggie who is very explosive, dangerous and give opposing def. coordinators headaches trying to game plan and strategize. I have always liked Reggie, i just have felt for the last 16 monthy that he is not an every down or feature back and I still feel the same way. You have to use Reggie the right way and between the tackles is not good. Payton has to make sure going forward that he doesn’t telegraph plays by who is in the lineup so that defenses can’t predict where the running play will be.
I still think Deuce has a lot of value and can be effective- I think when he has had a chance he has still been good- but it would be foolish to take carries away from PT and Reggie- it would just be a bad idea at this juncture.
Still think the defense has to blitz and fake some blitzes and do something other than total vanilla. The one or one and a half games they started doing that seemed to work well. I think Usama and Torrence will be okay- not the best in the league but good enough. Still need a pass rush ( and a safety). Maybe convert Young to safety???

any chance MTN-Exile can photoshop up some gumbo graphics for showing a monkey jumping off SP's back?
maybe that monkey from Family Guy that’s always in the son’s room? Or maybe that roller-skating monkey from that Simpson’s episode from 10 years ago? Just a thought…
Saints officials have cited Grant's and Smith's number of quarterback hurries as evidence of their quietly productive play...Technically, Smith "hurried" Jeff Garcia on his 39-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Bryant on Sunday.
