Who Should the Saints Draft in the First Round?

I am going to get these diaries started. Think of them as message board threads, just like on SaintsReport.com or ESPN.com. However, you can start one if you want to just rant about something. So feel free to start participating.  The question for this Diary is...Who do you want to see the Saints Draft in the First Round? Go!

top 5

Here are the top 5 players I'd like to see heading to new Orleans. The players at the very top are probably not going to make it all the way to the 10th pick, but there's no reason not to dream.

  1. Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU- Some say the best player in the draft, Dorsey would combine with Charles Grant and Will Smith to give the Saints one of the most effective D-lines in the league.
  1. Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC- Ellis would fill a huge gap on the D-line also, and while he is no Glen Dorsey, if available, I don't see any reason for the Saints to pass him up. It's likely that he'll go to the Bengals at 9 if he's still available, but there's no reason to rule out a trade up to 7 (via the Patriots) if he's still left there.
  1. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB, Tennessee State- This long corner had an impressive combine and has been rocketing up draft boards since the season ended and could definitely make his way into the lineup this year. His upside is huge, and his 6'2" frame and potential 4.28 40 will make him an equal matchup against any receiver.
  1. Keith Rivers, LB, USC- Almost hands-down the best linebacker in this year's class, Rivers' tackling film is extremely impressive. I'd like to see him mix with Vilma and potentially Dan morgan to make a corps of linebackers that would be truly scary.
  1. Leodis McKelvin, CB, Troy- One of the best CBs in the draft, I would probably rank him behind only DRC and Mike Jenkins in coverage, but adds a lot in the return game. I'd like to see Reg in the return game more, but if that's not an option, then McKelvin makes sense.

I understand that it's not likely to see Ellis or Dorsey fall to 10, but I think there's a good chance of the other three guys being there after the first 9 picks. And you never know what's going to happen on draft day, so let;s just wait and see.
