Predicting the 2008 Stats: Quarterback

Get used to this pose! (Photo Source)

I'm gonna stick with this weekly series at least one more time, even though it doesn't seem to be everyone's favorite. This one is gonna be easier though. We all know Drew is gonna be the starter, so all you guys have to do is predict what his final numbers will be in the following categories:

  • Pass Attempt
  • Pass Completions
  • Total Yards
  • Touchdowns
  • Interceptions

Since this one is a little easier I added a couple more stat categories than I usually do. Here is my prediction: 625 attempts, 430 completions, 4,350 yards, 33 TD's and 10 interceptions.

Go for it guys. Extra credit will now go to anyone who beats Stujo or Satchmo!

Man we are all so psyched with the moves made in the post season and the potential they bring but I just cant help but due to 30yrs of being a fan I just cant help but have a somewhat sarcastic and fatalist kind of view point so I say – half way into 1st game- injury- out for season- typical Saints Luck- 12 attempts, 9 receptions, 110 yards, 1 TD ;-)....just kiddin!

Brees Stats

OK, I’ll take a stab a this. I’m hopeful that they will get the running game going much better than last year and the defense will get much more pressure on opposing quarterbacks. If the Saints don’t have to play from behind as much this year and the running game is more effective, there will be less need for Drew to air it out every other play. I’m hoping his numbers will be closer to his 2006 numbers. So:

Completions: 459
Attempts: 539
Yards: 4599
TDs: 29
INTs: 9

All the 9’s are for Drew’s jersey number. I’ll go even further out on a limb and predict (“hope” would be a better word) that he makes the Pro Bowl and is named MVP. Let’s just hope he doesn’t sustain an injury. Brunell sounds like a good fit at backup, but without Brees we’re screwed.

Go Saints!!!!
