NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
FANTASY DEPTH CHART
Key:
PTR= Position Tier Rank. This is the tier level where the player should be slotted in drafts.
1 = Elite Player.
2 = Solid Performer
3 = Backend starter/Bench fill-in
4 = Roster filler or long-term prospect
0 = No value
ITR = In The Rotation
PB = Position Battle
S = Starter
QB PTR
Drew Brees – S 2
Mark Brunell 3
Tyler Palko 4
Summary: Brees should be on everyone’s fantasy radar come draft day. He has weapons at every position. Lack of a solid running game may force the Saints to pass even more. Nothing but fantasy goodness here. Brunell gives New Orleans a solid backup if Brees were to go down.
RB PTR
Deuce McAllister – S 2
Reggie Bush - S 2
Aaron Stecker 3
Pierre Thomas 4
Summary: McAllister is somewhat of a risk since he is coming off surgery. When healthy he is a productive back with a knack for the goal line. Bush is a wildcard. In leagues that reward PPR, he’s a great selection. In leagues that reward only rushing yards, not so much. He will frequently be used as a pass catcher out of the backfield. Stecker is a nice insurance policy in case either one is injured.

Brees is a second tier QB??
In a standard scoring league, my source has Brady at 346 points, Peyton@305, Romo@299, and Brees@288. I don’t believe it. I don’t think Brady is going to have another season like 2007 and I think Brees will do even better, and he’ll pass Romo on this list. Take Brees in the second round.
They also show Meacham as a 4-Prospect in the article.
If you’re going to win a fantasy league, you’re going to need to take a couple of chances. Pick guys that you think (from research and from gut feeling) are going to perform better than they are ranked by the experts. I think Meacham will have a better 2008 than as a 4, I’m saying he’ll end up as a 2, a near peer to Colston. Call me crazy, you won’t be the first. But don’t go nuts and draft Meacham in the second round. His average draft position is in the 16th, just take him before then.

Revised predictions
My source now has Brees at #3, far behind Brady, just behind Peyton. Tony hRomo is now just behind Brees. (Stay alert, Drew) Carson Palmer is a distant 5th.
Shockey moves up to #8 TE. Colston moves up to #9 WR ahead of Plaxico.
