My Interview with Mocking the Draft
Who said the offseason was slow?
It seems your favorite writer here at CSC is a pretty popular guy and has been on a bit of a media blitz. Matt Miller over at SB Nation website Mocking the Draft asked a few questions of me the other day and posted them today. You can check out his questions and my answers right here. I welcome any feedback you guys might have. Do you think I am wrong on anything? Did you think I hit the nail on the head with any answer? I'm always looking for your opinion and to stir up some debate.

Also, tonight at 8:30pm, I will be on Forecast Radio, part of Blog Talk Radio. Click here at 8:30pm (I am assuming Central Time) to listen in. Ralph Malbrough and Kevin Held of WWLTV.com will be the hosts and it is the first show for the 2008 season. It is open to the public, so feel free to call in and say hi or share your opinions as well. The number is (347) 215-8037. Should be fun. And if you are the forgetful type, like myself, you can click over there now and have them send you an email reminder before the show starts.

Dave, what about your day job??
Seriously. Jeez, we’re not even in camp yet. Nice interview, very well done. I do have 2 points of contention, though. I think we actually do need to add a veteran running back, for insurance. Shaun Alexander, if Payton’s evaluation of him pans out. Secondly, I am convinced that the Giants asked for Roman Harper in exchange for Shockey. The Saints did not offer Harper, and the deal died when the Saints refused to consider it (wisely). Break a leg tonight!

fair enough...
You might be right about the Harper situation. As far as a veteran RB, Stecker is no spring chicken.
As far as my day job…its the summer and since my business revolves around the college community, it is sloooooow this time of year. But owning your business means you get to do whatever you want, when you want, and how you want. Pretty sweet!
And if you think thats impressive, there will also be more media appearances by yours truly in the near future.
I am definitely expecting you to call in tonight Stu!

Good show
I listened in and logged on to the show last night. Dave has a calm, measured voice that is good for this format. I’m looking forward to hearing more. They didn’t take any calls, but accepted instant message type questions/comments from the website. Problem is, it is the same each year: We are not the coaching staff (and they don’t talk, even to Kenny W) and we don’t know what they are thinking. I’m sure Coach Payton knows if he needs another running back or not and if so, when he should try to get one. We don’t know that, we can only speculate. All these predictions of who will finish first or last actually mean nothing. It’s fun to do and fun to read other opinions, but it is a long season. Injuries, contract years, year after signed contracts, all kinds of things affect how the season plays out. You think Jason David wants to go out and suck again this year, that he doesn’t care? We’ve heard him talk, he’s a smart guy, he appears to have some pride. I think he’ll have a better year, it can’t be as bad as last year. Anyway, somebody go to camp and tell us what you see. That’ll be something to talk about.

thanks stu...
I saw you were in the chat room. Thanks for the support! ! HAHA, I am an Italian New Yorker and that is the first time anyone has ever told me I have a calm, measured voice! Getting older and more mature I guess. Hopefully that will become a regular gig and I will be on the show more. There should also be another podcast coming up, featuring yours truly, that I will share with you guys as well. I think I can also put up yesterdays show!
As for training camp, I am REALLY going to try and make it out there. I wanted to do a whole weekend, but I don’t think I can get out of my store on a Saturday, so I may drive up early one Sunday and come back the same day. If I do, I will be sure to bring my computer and give you guys the inside scoop!
As for the season, I am a season ticket holder, so I will be at EVERY home game so I will be able to give you guys firsthand accounts of the atmosphere and everything else you just can’t get from watching the game on TV.
Thanks again!
