2007 Redux: Titans 13, Saints 7

Saints lose at home on Monday night and lose their division lead. Drew Brees has a cold night and the Saints offense continues to get off to a slow start. It just doesn't seem as powerful and explosive as everyone thought it would be so far this season. Mare misses FG attempt.

Wow, this is eerily like the real season.

Star-divide

The Saints dropped their first game at home this season in front of the entire country on Monday night against the Tennessee Titans. This one did not turn out as well as last seasons Monday night home opener against the dirty birds. Yet another close game, but the Saints inability to pull the trigger on offense puts them on the losing end.

Three Drew Brees interceptions negated all offensive production. Deuce had a great game on the ground, running for a total of 123 yards, hauling in another 25 yards. Reggie Bush was the leading receiver on the night with 56 yards on only 2 catches, including a long 44 yarder. The defense continued to pile on the sacks, tallying 4 on the day, one each by Hollis Thomas, Roman Harper, Scott Fujita and Jay Bellamy. Scott Shanle was a monster on the field, leading the team with 10 tackles. Mare, of course, missed a FG attempt. He is as much a disappointment in the virtual world as he is in the real world.

Atlanta, who has Michael Vick playing quarterback, now takes the lead in the NFC South.

Madden 07 on Wii

I’m telling you, that software is very realistic. I lost 2 games as the Saints at Soldier Field, playing the CPU, before I finally won last night. (Stopped letting Madden call so many plays for me) I would NEVER say “Why doesn’t Payton use the strategy that I use in Madden??”, it’s not that kind of reality. But I am continually amused and amazed at how many times I say to myself “Huh, just like the real Saints”. Deuce moves and performs particularly realistically and Deuce-like, in Madden World. I’m just sayin’....

Shanle had 10 tackles! He’s a badass.

I'm changing my vote

We already know what happens when we lost Deuce—-we sucked.
Leave him in so we can see what coulda, woulda and shoulda happened :)

well...

I already played out the second game last night, when the votes still favored keeping Deuce in, so thats the way we will roll with it. Sorry for those of you who wanted to see otherwise. Besides, Deuce is having a pretty nasty Redux season and I think we should see where it goes!

I want to know what the line is on deuce playing more than seven games.

Xen-cuts is a nay sayer

Me too. No one has ever come back 1 year after knee surgery and performed anywhere near normal, it takes 2 years to fully heal. Don’t count on McKenzie either. I can’t see how either of them is going to be ready for Game 1. Xen seems to think Deuce’s career is over, or nearly. I’m not ready to go that far yet.

yeah...

i gotta admit, i am a little skeptical myself. I think we all really love Deuce for everything he has done for the Saints, and I think we need to look at his recovery from a practical standpoint, and not let our love of him cloud our judgment. I am sure the Saints organization wont.
