It's finally here! The Saints return to the Superdome for the first time this year! And CSC's second open game thread!
Of course, yours truly will be at the game in person, so I will not be able to partake in tonight's open thread, but I do expect some of the regulars to step up and lead the way. Judging from the poll I took the other day, there are some of you who won't be able to watch the game but may like to get your information from this thread. I really look forward to coming home from the game and seeing what all of you guys had to say about the game.
I will try to get my recap of the game by tomorrow morning.

Where's Deuce?
I’m here just following the play by play at NFL.com and it sucks. DirectTV doesn’t show live preseason games in their Sunday Ticket package, so I’ll have to wait until Monday to see this on NFL Network. That long drive just completed for a TD by the Texans is not a good sign for the Saints D. I see they’re giving up a lot of big pass plays. NOT Good!I saw that Deuce only took one snap. Is there any word as to his status?

He’s starting to look good. Getting his 5 yard gains, which is what reggie can’t seem to reliably do. Let’s hope he stays healthy.

Just signed up for NFL Field Pass radio. Listening to Bobby Hebert is nice. He’s currently pointing out the woeful continuing problems of the Saints D. He just called out Jason David and said he was having “overwhelmingly bad play.” Sorry Jason, you gotta go!!

The defense
Getting run on badly. The problem is not stopping them on third down. Again all Schaub did was look at the WR covered by number 42 and throw to him for an easy reception and first down.
Jason David is completely useless as an NFL CB.

The D must be fixed!
Still, I’m thinking that the three joint practices between these two teams last week must have helped the Texans tonight more than the Saints. The Texans are shredding the Saints D and further exposing weaknesses that must be fixed before September 7.

but this is his first game so I’m willing to cut him some slack. Jason David needs to be traded to a team that incorporates the Tampa 2 scheme. He’ll never be a good man-man coverage CB.

Did we stop the Texans even one time!? That was weak. I agree, Gibbs needs to go, because it isn’t working. I hope to god I’ll have to eat crow for this post later, but I don’t think I will.
