Payton: Henderson's made the team
Rotoworld.com evaluation:
Saints coach Sean Payton indicated that Devery Henderson is not on the roster bubble. In fact, it appears Henderson will play ahead of Robert Meachem as a starter in the last two exhibitions. Payton says Meachem "still has a ways to go" to find a steady role. We've seen Meachem get taken way too early in drafts. Still, don't expect Henderson to keep the job all year.

Here's the Times-Pic quote:
RECEIVER STATUS: With two preseason games to go, it appears receiver Devery Henderson is on pace to play as a first-stringer -- and receiver Robert Meachem is not.
When asked Wednesday whether Henderson is fighting more for a roster spot or playing time, Payton said: "I see him fighting more for playing time. He's out with the first group, so when you look at Marques (Colston) and you look at Devery, those guys are right now lining up with the first group. Devery's competing against those other guys behind him. Lance Moore, Robert Meachem, those guys are wanting to get more snaps."
But asked if he wanted to see Meachem get more time playing with Drew Brees, Payton said: "Yeah, but that's got to be something that's earned. And right now, there are guys ahead of him, just from an overall efficiency level. And Robert's improved, and yet he's still got a ways to go."

Arrington to IR
If this is what the depth chart looks like…
Colston
Patten
Henderson
Meachem
Copper
Moore
Arrington
…then they need to put Arrington on IR in order to keep him. I see them keeping five WR, and the only other alternative in order to keep Arrington is to cut both Copper and Moore—and I don’t see that happening.
Damn that toe. (Oh well. A 7th-round steal who lost his rookie season would make him a cross between Colston and Meachem…not bad company.)

I hope it's for the better
I like this kid…. I think it will be good for him to sit back and try to learn this year. Hopefully he will come back smarter, stronger, and have a great year next year
