Good news for the DC hunt

Tennessee just got knocked out of the playoffs. That means that Dave McGinnis and Jim Washburn, both good candidates for defensive coordinator, can now be approached for interviews.

Now, we have to pull for the Giants to knock out Philadelphia so that we can interview Sean McDermott.

And now...due to the silly 75-word requirement, I add a lot of useless verbiage on the end of this fanpost. Little words, like I, a, an, to, and antidisestablishmentarianism.

and heck, they had GW in town only hours after GG got the AXE, so maybe someone can check

the flight logs and manifests (just like Jack Bauer would in 24) to see if Dave McGinnis or that other dude M-E said is on their way to NO right now…

The Detroit Lions are on the clock!

Well, not such good luck with Philadelphia

BUT…

If the Saints continue to wait to fill the defensive coordinator post, they will telegraph who it is they’re really interested in. I hope they call in a couple candidates this week; but if the week passes without some kind of announcement it will be pretty clear they’re waiting for Sean McDermott.

Get Sean McDermott!

Gregg Williams has reportedly emerged as the Saints’ primary target to replace Gary Gibbs as defensive coordinator.
Williams is also high on the Titans and Packers’ radars, showing that his work with Jacksonville’s defense in 2008 is clearly not being held against him. He’d keep the Saints’ 4-3 intact and would have solid talent to work with.

All over but the check writing
Sources in New Orleans called Williams the team’s "dream" candidate.
