The honor and glory of the NFC South

lies in ashes this morning, thanks to Jake Delhomme and Matty Ice.

The winningest division in the NFL, the toughest competition, and two of its teams get knocked out of the playoffs by the Arizona Cardinals?! And not just by the Cardinals, but by the Cardinals' defense!

This makes our failure in 2008 even more bitter. Apparently, we couldn't take the title in a division of posers and frauds. What does that make us?

Gotta have defense

Arizona showed that even a very offensive-minded team with a great passing attack and a running game that was underemphasized (who does that sound like?) still needs to play solid defense to win. They got blown out in the games when their defense didn’t show up

Screw the panthers

I loved watching the cards lay a beat down on them. Somewhere, Steve Smith is punching an old lady out of frustration.

Your right

he’s punching out the old lady and kicking her dog(toy poodle). I’m on another Saint site, and Carolina trollers are always coming on there and starting s**t, they got what they deserve. Feel bad for Jake D. but not Smith…..

They took the Cards too lightly

It looked like they were expecting an easy win. When they scored that early TD, they seemed to relax a little bit. Then JD starting throwing picks and they could never get their heads back into the game. You gotta give it to the Cards. No one expected much out of them (myself included) and they have definitely risen to the occasion. The Falcons were destined to come crashing down to earth eventually, but the Panthers had been playing better than anyone else the last half of the season. They simply weren’t as well prepared as they may have thought they were going in. So far, bye weeks have been poison for playoff teams. I wonder if the Giants and Steelers will play as poorly as the Panthers and Titans. Even though we no longer have a team chasin’ the ring this year, I still think the NFC South is the best division in the league. Of course, I’m probably just a little biased.

Go Saints!!!!

NFC east is better, they swept the NFC south this year

4-0

the 2 divisions match up this year so i guess we’ll see, but look how many superbowls the NFC east has won, and its possible they get another this year

There you go bursting my delusional bubble

Yes, I concede that the East has the most Super Bowl wins when compared to the South’s grand total of 1. In regards to this season, I think the East started out strongest and dominated the first half to eventually taper off during the second half of the season when the South seemed to have success against most everyone (well, excluding the Saints). The Giants and Redskins fell apart at the end and the Cowboys simply imploded as I knew they eventually would. The Boys were probably the most over-hyped team in history. The Eagles are playing their best ball at just the right time, but they had a stretch where all they could muster was a tie against the Bengals and got utterly destroyed by the Ravens. I’m not trying to disrespect the Eagles as I hope they win it all this season. I like McNabb and want him to get a ring so the Philly fans will finally appreciate what he’s done for them.

Go Saints!!!!

The Saints?

Hey Dave

M-E was venting when he wrote that. I think he was referring to the Bucs and the Panters (sic).

There’s a bailout coming, but it’s not for you.

No, I think he meant the Falcons as one of those teams

Considering no one thought the Falcons would come anywhere near the playoffs this season, their one and done shouldn’t be too shameful. The Bucs are the team that should be ashamed of themselves as they totally collapsed at the end. They actually let the Raiders beat them at home.

Go Saints!!!!

No

…I was referring to the Falcons and Panters [sic]. And Dave the Falconer just knocked that pitch into the center field bleachers.

Dave, you sound like a long-time Saints fan. Either you really understand our collective psyche, or there’s something you’re not admitting to us.

Believe me, there is a LOT that DTF is not admitting to !!!

Well

I grew up surrounded by Boston fans when they were just pathetic instead of arrogant and obnoxious, and my best friend is a Buffalo Bills fan whose face falls the instant I met Scott Norwood. Also, did I mention I’m a Falcons fan? Between our two star-crossed franchises, there’s been plenty of suffering to go around.

Also, I’m the Lindbergh baby.

I’m Helen Keller. Patty Duke typed this for me.
