My Trip to the University of Illinois
Not only did I take a trip to Purdue, home of the NFL's greatest quarterback Drew Brees, but I also had a chance to check out the University of Illinois, home of the NFL's greatest running back, Pierre Thomas. I figure that's enough to make this post relative. I got a private tour of the football and basketball stadiums and figured I would quickly share some of it for those who might actually be interested. I also snapped a cool aerial shot of New Orleans on the way home. How cool is my job? Enjoy!
Memorial Stadium on campus. Look like Soldier Field? Design by the same person and built around the same time.
Where Pierre once roamed.
The suites.
The view from the control room and press box.
Inside the press box.
Club level view from the 50.
University of Illinois' basketball stadium. It's a miniature Superdome!
The view from the top. Here's the best part: The stadium holds 16,000 people. There is only one men's and one women's bathroom. Unbelievable.
The ceiling. For you Stu!
From the air.
Another from the air.

Sweet! Nice pix, Dave.
And that one of the basketball arena also looks like it could be the spaceship from “The Day the Earth Stood Still.” Ha!
The Detroit Lions are on the clock!
I've seen the Superdome ceiling, and Illinois.... you're no Superdome
Man those look like bench bleacher seats in the stadium. Kansas still has those. I’m too old to sit on aluminum planks for 3 hours.
Daughter’s boyfriend said he was surprised and pleased with the Superdome seats because they have cushions. Most stadium seats are the hard plastic/fiberglass style. Which still beat hell out of aluminum planks.
Nice pics, Dave.
