Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey left New York with a bitter taste, but he's sweet on New Orleans

and we were glad to see him go
That bitter taste in his mouth was his own anger. He’d let his emotions get the best of him and he’d just disappear from the game. The only time you’d hear from him was either distracting Eli to get the ball or jumping around the field with his helmet off. Blond locks a flowin’
The guy’s got great potential but as you can see, he makes the hard catches that might lead to injury and drops the easy ones. Could never get his head on right. I’m glad to see him living up to his talent. With that kind of talent, it shouldn’t take him 8 years to start to show it.
PS – thanks for the draft picks
the trade
wasn’t my choice or i would’ve kept the draft choices. Although, since Miller’s season ending injury i’m glad we have a pass catching TE.
Superbowl bound!!!...I know! do you?! Go Saints!!

agreed on both counts
In hindsight, Jermichael Finley would have been just as effective as Shockey in this offense and would have only costed us one pick. As is so often the case, it’s the NET VALUE of the trade one has to question. Semi-productive acquisition versus … faceless M.I.A. talent x 2? Guess I’m just not a big fan of peddling draft choices for the sake of immediate name recognition.
