Rest of the Schedule...
After the schooling our Saints gave the Giants yesterday it seems we're finally getting respect from the National Media. Some have even mentioned a possibility of the Saints going undefeated this year. An undefeated season with a Lombardi trophy to top it off would be all sorts of awesome. As a Saints fan I, among others, say this every year (since 1987) even when we know it won't be true. While I don't think we'll go undefeated this year, our schedule the rest of the way is favorable and should leave us with a pretty good record if this team keeps playing the way they have. Who knows, this year anything could happen with this team.
I'm not going to break down the schedule like other people have done/will do, I just wanted to mention that I noticed how favorable it was from here on out...
Our three most difficult opponents (at this point), we play at Home, in PRIME TIME.
1.We have a MNF football game at HOME against the Falcons. (Granted we play them again in Atlanta weeks later, which is always a rough place to play, but having them at home for the first game in Prime Time slot definitely helps us get a big jump on winning the division.)
2. We have another MNF game, @ HOME, against the Patriots. (At this point in the season they're not that impressive, blowing out a broken team does not count. But if they should come back to form later in the season, it is the Patriots after all, having them at Home is a huge advantage.)
3. We have an NFL Network game @ Home against Dallas. (Ok, so Dallas isn't playing so well right now either, and we've handled them before, but when playing any big-market team it's better to be at home.)
As I said, I'm not saying we go undefeated, I'm not saying we should look ahead to any games. Just saying that the way this team has played this year, having this schedule ahead of us is very promising for us.
Also, How the hell we end up with 3 Prime Time games, all at Home? That is just awesome. And there's still a chance they may flex a game to Sunday night.
This is a great time to be a Saints Fan. Gonna have to leave my "Who Dat Tree" up until Mardi Gras. To Hell with X-mas, I'm decorating my house with Black & Gold!

There is no one we can't beat if we play up to our potential....
even if they play up to their potential……
Of course, I don’t expect to go undefeated…
and you have to stay healthy….
but we have as good a shot as any NFC team has had in past years. just have to keep playing the way we can.
i think we are better than the Cardinals were last year, and we’re better than the Bears were in 2006. We might be better than the Giants were in 2007- hard to say, but they clearly played to the top of their potential down the stretch.
That’s what it takes.

You only “think” we’re merely “better” than the Cardinals were last year? Shoot, we’re FOUR TIMES better than they were last year. Their playoff run was a combination of one really good day (vs. Atlanta) and two other teams self-destructing for at least half (Philly) or all (Carolina) of the game. And before the playoffs they were the worst playoff team in NFL, possibly even in NFL history (though that’s probably overdoing at least a tiny bit).
The others we’re only “probably” better than, and yeah we have to stay healthy, play up to our potential, etc. But to say you only “think” we’re better than the Cards were last year is a gross understatement.
falcons
out of all the teams we have left the falcons scare me most they are playing really good and they are a division rival except for the return to the super doom on monday night when we blew them out they always play us tough the same goes with the panthers i think our biggest worries come from within our division
We honestly don't have many worries left
If it’s safe to assume that ten wins will get you in the playoffs on the NFC side, we’re already halfway there, and we are not done with the cupcake games yet. If we split with Atlanta and Carolina(not gimmes, but everyone should win at home in the NFC South), sweep Tampa(they shouldn’t win anywhere), and win one of the games between Miami, St. Louis, and Washington, we could be there. If we put up 11 wins, I think that’s got to be a lock for at least a wildcard bid. That’s looking way ahead, but it doesn’t seem so unlikely that we can win 5 or 6 of the games left to play. Everybody thinks we can win 8 or 9 of them, so giving the Saints a few ugly days sounds reasonable. They just have to avoid the “meltdown”. If they lost three in a row somewhere, I’d be scared, but I wouldn’t be shocked.

At least “in a row” is a part of the Who Dat lexicon this year. Two straight is the best we could must all of last season. Consider this: we now have as many consecutive wins in 2009, as Tom Dempsey has toes.
