You're Welcome
It isn't often that I take credit for a Saints win, but I have to humbly claim responsibility here. Well, my wife and I, together, so I suppose it wasn't just me.
After a long weekend of putting in 50 ft of PVC drainpipe, we finished about 3:00 and decided we'd earned a reward. So it's downtown to the Bier Garden to watch the Saints kick ass on the big screen.
Except that it didn't turn out that way. Drew looked sick. The offensive line looked sick, and the defensive line wasn't much better. Ricky Williams was running roughshod over the Saints, and after two quarters and a couple of Hirschbraus (ale and lager, good stuff), we decided that the Saints were losing because we were watching them. It was a big sacrifice to make, but we decided to go home and let the Saints catch up and win an epic victory without our involvement.
Which is just what happened.
So...our voluntary non-involvement in the second half--plus gold pants--proved to be enough to give the Saints the win. I know you all feel you should get together and do something to show your appreciation, but honestly...just being 6-0 is enough for me. Great win, and the knowledge that we had something to do with it will be enough to warm our hearts even when we're 90 and in a nursing home and it hurts to chew banana pudding.
WHO DAT!

6-0! 6-0! 6-0!
Nice game all around! Missed PATs still mystify me, though.

My girlfriend's daughter was watching with me...
…until halftime, then she had to go to a friend’s house.
She’s not allowed to watch another Saints game for the rest of her life.
;-)
…seriously, she threw mud in my gris-gris!!!

We all appreciate your efforts
But if you think this win had anything to do with anything other than Drew Brees kicking everyone in the ass and willing his team to victory, you’re out of your mind.

Funny thing
We were sitting next to a party of four from New Orleans, who just happened to be visiting here and decided they couldn’t miss the game, after all. At halftime, we told them we were leaving because we were jinxing the Saints.
They didn’t disagree.
We knew right then they were true New Orleanians, born and bred. Never overlook the power of the jinx. Especially as it pertains to the Saints. So yeah, Drew willed his team to victory…but he had help from the civilians this time.

Birthplace of Hirschbrau. A LOT better than Dixie.

Yup! Granted the beer is better but,,
then almost any german beer is better than almost any american beer. But that´s not the point. Drinkin´Dixie while watchin´the Saints just belongs! grin Drink Hirschbräu on any other occasion.

Way to stick by your team
Watch every game ‘til the last snap, that’s my motto.
This was a GREAT win that will help propel the Saints to the first 19-0 season in history. Just watch out for big injuries. I’m not talking about Shockey, because it’s a given that he’ll go down at some point. Or he’ll start talkin’.

I went and took a nap until the 4th quarter. Woke up to a pleasant surprise.

Good job, M-E
Thanks for getting your jinxing ass out of that bar at just the right moment. This makes up for your prediction of a serious Saints injury, which did come true. Man! I hope Big Sed is OK. He looked like he’ll be out for at least a few weeks, if not the season.

I wasn't serious
I don’t believe in jinxes. It was just bad luck that Big Sed went down. I guess we were due. Hargrove looked very good in his place. I hope Big Sed isn’t lost for the year. So far, they’re calling it a knee sprain, so if we’re lucky he may be gone for only 3-4 weeks.

I thought Hargrove did outstanding. I had questions on whether he should have been starting over Sed in any case.

I can do you one better on the jinxing
For the first time this year I donned some Saints gear. If it were 2006 or before, it would have been a usual occurance on gameday, but for each game of ‘07 or ’08, whenever I wore a Saints jersey or T-shirt we lost, badly,( including both road games in Tampa to which I traveled). So this year I watch in non-Saints gear. Today I figured we are so good the jinx wouldn’t occur. Boy was I wrong, the damn gris-gris was on as soon as I pulled on my Sir Saint t-shirt (I call him “the Chin”, you know the old mascot from the early years) . Anyway by the late first quarter I switch the station to Morgus thinking the watch jinx was in effect, but totally forgot about the shirt. When I realized the shirt jinx was still on I ripped that thing off like it was poison, and when I flipped back to check-up Sharper hasd just started the come back. I’m watching the game now, since I taped it, but I’ll bet you guys left darn near the time I yanked off the shirt.
That gris-gris is strange and powerful stuff Exile. SAINTS ROCK!!

Here's what happened to me
The score was 3-24, when my friend from Church called and asked if I would help him deliver a bedroom suit to a girl that had moved to town without any furniture. When we picked it up from the first house, someone saw my Brees jersey and said that I would be rewarded for leaving the game to do a good deed. When I returned home and unpaused the tivo, well, the rest is history. God is good. Believe in the “Holy Rollers”.
This is OUR year!! Yea, I said it. Who Dat!!!

My story
i find out that i have to work the early shift today and it just so happens my saints are the late game. so i’m pretty broken hearted to begin with i know i’ll only get to watch the first half before i leave for work. well its 24-3 and i’m brushing the tears from my eyes as i go into work just in a miserable mood. when i get a break at work i decide to check the score and see how they are doing thinking the game should be about over. and what do you know saints just scored and 37-34. then they miss the extra point. i promptly turned off the tv. its killing me so i check back in just in time for porter’s pick 6 then they miss the 2 point. but the game is out of hand so i don’t think my bad luck can ruin a 12 point lead with 2 minutes left so i got to enjoy the end. i promise to be a better fan next week.

Here in Okinawa, we just had a typhoon (that’s a Oriental hurrican, y’all) go by us and it had been raining for 4 days. When the final score came over the computer the sun came out and it’s been sunny ever since!
I’m not kidding. Google the typhoon!

My part
I was watching along with everyone else the other out of area Saints fans on the internet live feed. When the score was 24-3 I decided to have a few drinks and devote my attention to cheering for the Cowboys over the Falcons so we could stay a game up in the division. As I was watching I heard the reports of the score getting closer and closer, but couldn’t bring myself to bring up the game for fear that I was the bad luck charm helping the Fins. When I focused my attention to the Cowboys they began whooping the Falcons, and when that game was over they showed the final minutes of the Saints game and luckily by that point the Saints had the momentum and my presence didn’t hurt the team.

Thats just like a story i posted on nola.where I only wore my jersy on home games.
This time I decided that we where a team of destiny and wearing my jersy wouldn’t
matter. When we were down 24-3 I was almost kicking myself for wearing it.(I almost got up and walked out of Buffalo wild wings to till the last 5 secs. Then Brees tought me something. Those superstsiouns that we always have there not needed this year
cause 09 is 09 year and now I can wear my jersy everey sunday
