Around SBN: Jim Irsay: We Can Make It Work With Peyton Manning

AND after a game like that....

We move on to week 8 and the falcons!

I didn't watch the cowboys vs game, (too busy watching ours!) I know falcons lost...

I know we have some work to do, our O-line seemed a bit 'sub-par' in the first half but (I think) revived itself and made the plays to win!!  Defense seemed shaky and brees didn't get as much cover from fire as i'd like to see, BUT se la vi!

we still come away with a win... anyway I digress

I'm sure we'd all like to hear predictions and if anyone knows how well/poor they are doing!!

great game boys!! Who Dat think dey gonna beat dem saints?!

I think you guys will roll through the Falcons rather easily.

Turner can be stopped with the right defense and Matt Ryan gets shook pretty easily IMO.

Agreed on the first point

Not agreed at all on the second point. Outside of this week, I haven’t seen Matt Ryan shook all year.

Dave--

You need to stay away this week, my friend. The arrogance and hubris around here is going to reach toxic levels. Not that it’s wrong, you understand…but it’ll be a bit difficult to breathe for Falcons fans.

I wish you were wrong, Dave. I hope you are wrong this week especially. But I think you are not. Ryan is a pretty good QB and considering he’s still in only his second year he’s a VERY good one. But I do hope he has another off night in 7 more days. :)

I haven’t watched that game yet. I’ll have to catch it on Game Rewind sometime. And while I will watch every mistake he makes with significant enjoyment, a large part of that will come from the fact I know those aren’t going to happen every day. Most of the rest will come from the fact you guys are division rivals and long-time blood-enemies. Were it not so, I’d probably be happy for you guys and your amazing turnaround with the new coach and everything.

I hope so...

I have been slacking lately, got all caught up with you guys over there trying to figure out how things would go… now i need to spend this week looking over the falcons

thanks for the support!

I think the Saints Fans

I live in Houston and was subjected to the Dallas-Atlanta game

Three things stood out to me…

1) Atlanta’s defense is very vulnerable, especially against the run. Being here in Texas, I’ve had to watch Dallas a lot and they do have a good running game, but this was ridiculous. It just seemed like holes were opening up for all of the RB’s for Dallas. Also, Bush could have a nice game on outside runs because I noticed that Felix Jones had a couple of really nice runs to the outside with his speed.

2) The Saints need to pressure Matt Ryan. No, he won’t necessarily crumble, but he can be pressured and isn’t as effective when he is.

3) Look out for Snelling. He is deceptively fast and can bowl over people if they aren’t tackling soundly.

I think the Saints should win, but Atlanta will be very hungry.

yeah they will!!

but i think without us going head to head with the wildcat things will get back to normal… i could hope for another 40+ points!

i agree the

falcons have beat some really bad teams on the road and barely beat miami at home. i no the dolphins played us great but if we were at home it would have been different .
the toughest part of their schedule is yet to come i think we throw another 40 burger on them and never feel threatened.
as far as matt ryan goes he is a good QB but he can be shaken with pressure and i look for williams to bring the heat i think we win by an easy 20 points

by mississippisaintsfan on Oct 27, 2009 9:51 AM CDT up reply actions

and

i forgot to add they have no running game to speak of so our defense will pin their ears back and come after ryan

by mississippisaintsfan on Oct 27, 2009 9:53 AM CDT up reply actions

Matt Ryan can Run

and he’s not afraid to run. Thats what I’m a ‘little’ worried about. He’ll pull it down and take off, while DB’s have their backs turned covering down field, w/Fujita poss. still out Vilma is going to stay @ home on some pass plays. Especially 3rd& 5 or 6.

Yea, I know the feeling.

Don’t know if the ol’ ticker can take the rest of the season. I’m glad I discovered the Canal Street Chronicles. Since I’m so far away from home I feel like I’m in a New Orleans bar talking football with my buddies!

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR BEING THERE! IT REALLY MEANS A LOT! NO KIDDING.

And as for you, Saintsational, ask Ray Nagin to give you a tour of the mayor’s office so you’ll know your way around when you get there!!!!! And can you get me a job in the mail room? I’ll need 2K a month and a car. (Norm – Cheers!)
