Falcons Sign Aaron Stecker. Yuck!
This news makes me ill. As if Stecker is going to somehow divulge some super top secret way to stop the Saints. There is no magic button. It's so stupid that teams do this every year, hoping to get some sort of insider information. I know they are hurting at RB, but let's be serious: The only reason he was signed was because of his familiarity with the Saints. The fact that a player I liked is now a member of the hated rival "Dirty Birds" is enough to give me an ulcer. Not because it'll make a lick of difference in the final outcome of the game, mind you, but because Stecker is now "tainted."
I still have trouble forgiving Bobby Hebert for doing the same. Yuck.

Actually, in the Foulclowns defense...
….Norwood is out, and they probably actually need a 3rd RB right now…don’t hurt that Stecker may have some insight on what the Saints USED to be like….
;-)
…er…maybe not so much now though….heheheheh….

In this economy . . .
. . . I can’t blame a guy for taking whatever job he can get. Even if it is with the Falcons.

Hell, I'd take a job with the Falcons
Without even hesitating. I’d like to be in the equipment department. In charge of the gatorade. The stuff that’s yellow and tastes kinda salty…

I'm happy for Stecker
I’m sure he’s happy to be in the NFL again. And, although he won’t be in the Hall of Fame, he still has something left and he deserves good. He gave us everything he had, did a heck of a job, and was never a problem. If we weren’t so deep and talented, he might still be with us. Now he can make some more cash and add to his NFL pension.
I have the utmost respect for Stecker, but he won’t be any type of X-factor to switch this from a victory to a loss for us!!

Stecker
I liked Stecker and even though he’s a Damn Falcon now, I’ll still like him just like I liked ole “Hollywood” Horn even after he joined that same damn team. I’m sure the Dome will remember that he played his best for us and will treat him with the same respect, but Stecker will have to understand that no true Saints fan can root for him come Monday night and not to mention cause we just flat out hate Atlanta :)

Stecker
would be an upgrade over our current third best RB. Sorry, Lynell. That’s just the way I feel.

Age played a factor in his release, I’m sure. Not saying that I think Lynell Hamilton is the future of the franchise, but we’ll probably be a little better off over the long run. To Stecker’s credit, he was excellent on special teams coverage, something none of our current RBs bring to the table.

So who is 4th?
Bush, Bell, or Thomas?
by Monkey Poop Battle on Oct 27, 2009 6:19 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Bush isn't a RB
He runs a great WR reverse, but that’s cause he’s a WR.

stecker,I sure hope
he catches the pass as good as he did for the Saints,I uderstand I CANNOT BELIEVE IT IS BUTTER offered him a contract for his butter fingers he dropped every pass thrown to him as a Saint,I am sure he will have ryan wanting to kick his ass too.

LOL "butter fingers"
That has to be the number one selling candy bar, among Saints fans with nothing else to bitch about. Stecker had 128 receptions and 4 drops as a Saint. That’s fewer than one drop per season. By contrast, Reggie tallied three this past Sunday. Without Aaron Brooks to blame.

I always liked Steck.
He ran hard and didn’t make a lot of mistakes. Though he did drop 4 passes. That’s pretty terrible. LOL (Who ever had that idea for the sarcasm font is really on to something)

a NFL player wants to collect a check for as long as he can. Big or Small, good for him.

Not sure what's wrong with Lynell Hamilton
I thought he was a bright spot among our young players. If the problem with him is special teams, maybe we should promote PJ Hill or Adrian Arrington for a game or 2. With Bell, Thomas, Bush and Evans, I would think we could get by even if we brought up Arrington for special teams. Not sure, however, if Hill or Arrington would be special teams upgrade or not. Maybe someone could enlighten me as to what Hamilton has done wrong this season.

The trouble with promoting players from the practice squad is, they can’t be on the 53 roster for more than nine games without losing their practice squad eligibility. So basically, to promote someone and NOT have them on the active (game day) roster would be counter productive. I think that’s why you haven’t seen Hill or Arrington brought up. Hamilton isn’t cracking the active roster as it is, nor was Rod Harper before he got hurt. Why would the numbers suddenly favor players deemed lesser talents to begin with? Obviously, if Lance Moore suffered a setback, a new injury at one of those two positions occurred and we were really in a pinch — something along those lines — then they’d probably go that route. As is, it just doesn’t make any sense to urinate away that eligibility, when all they’re likely going to be doing is warming the bench either way.

if they're the only ones hiring
then take the job. If he’s siding with the Falcons i’m guessing there wasn’t much on the table for him. Plus, ride the bench, maybe play every now and then if someone gets hurt and make a good bit of money. Plus practice(unless you’re AI). Sounds like a good plan to me
Superbowl bound!!!...I know! do you?! Go Saints!!
