Around SBN: Jeremy Lin's Game-Winner Was Incredible, Worth Remembering

Eagles pluck P.J. Hill off our practice squad!

Doh! I really liked this kid. The Times-Pic reports:

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed undrafted rookie tailback P.J. Hill off the Saints' practice squad to help fill in while veteran tailback Brian Westbrook is out with a concussion.

Hill had an impressive offseason with the Saints, but he was buried behind a deep backfield that included Reggie Bush, Pierre Thomas, Mike Bell and Lynell Hamilton.

This can't be good for our RB depth. He may not have been needed this season, but he might have had some future potential. I wonder who Payton will now sign to the practice squad in his place.

UPDATE: Per the Times-Pic, Herb Donaldson has been resigned to the sqaud.

Welcome back, Herb!

Good for P.J.

I’m glad he’s getting his shot in the NFL.

Herb Donaldson?

The eight practice slot is available. I don’t see why they wouldn’t offer it to him.

Cedric Peerman is currently on the Browns’ practice squad and is better than both Hill and Donaldson, imo. Just another name to keep in mind, if and when the injury bug hits.

How does this work?

How could a team sign another team’s practice squad player? Didn’t Hill sign a deal to be on our squad?

I thought...

He would be a good replacement for Heath Evans while he was out. Has a good ability to lead block and has good hands.

Do Saints get anything

in return?Cash? Evans knee must not be too serious. Like Mike Bell’s, sprain MCL no surjery required,I guess. On the NFL replay I slowed it down, the screen late 4th qu. he’s tackled on Mia. 3 yd.line over top of left knee. Will we see more double TE formations, in upcoming games with TE in backfield? Can Lynell play FB on a few downs?
