15-0 and....
Alright guys and girls. Let's just say that we run the table and are 15-0 going into the Carolina game. Would you sit Brees and co and not care if we win or play them and go for the perfect season???
Also, what do you think Payton would do? and would you be against his decision either way?
I understand that is a long way away but i'm bored. Monday night is very far away.

Go for the perfect season
You have to. Wouldn’t ever have that chance again.

I'd be happy
with 15-1 and not taking the chance of Brees getting hurt.
Another question would be which starters do you sit???

PLAY THEM!
Do you really want your players sitting out for three weeks then playing the most important game of the season?

it seems very possible that we can have two 18-0 teams face off at the superbowl
am i right? if we go undefeated and the colts go undefeated, two 18-0 teams could face off… or am i missing something. has this ever happened before?

That thought has crossed my mind lately too.
No, that has never happened.

very possible = very unlikely
I’m sure both teams will wind up losing a game or two. Probably one to a team they’re expected to beat handily. It happens just about every season.

We already know the answer....
in 2006 Payton sat our starters when the Cowgirls lost, a Super Bowl is more important to this team than a perfect record, and besides I would rather get a loss before we enter the playoffs, look what happened to NE

The Giants played their starters with nothing to gain but a W in Week 17 also, and went on to beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl. There are definitely two sides to that argument.

Exactly, it’s hard enough to come off a bye and win, much less a two week bye.

GO FOR THE WIN!!!
I’m going to be at that game! First Saints game I get to see live since 1983! CRUSH THE PANTERS! [sic]

GO FOR THE WIN
Keep the players busy and in tip top shape for a win in the Superbowl.

if we were
14-0 wouldnt you think we would have already wrapped up home field advantage?

what i was thinking
Superbowl bound!!!...I know! do you?! Go Saints!!

Not if the Vikings win out from here. Their only loss so far is to an AFC team which is meaningless in terms of tie-breaks between NFC teams.

I'd play them
and see how the game goes. I definetly wouldn’t want them to sit the whole game. It just seems like it throws them out of rhythm. Play them the first half, hope they build a good enough lead. If the game comes to the final drive, put in the starters to get them ready for what will probably happen in the postseason. Having your backs against the wall and this is a win or go home(not really in that game) type of situation. Everyone could always use the extra practice in a real game. I don’t like starters sitting, might make them rusty.

Agreed.
If they have home field advantage they are going to have a week off already. Two weeks off is too much. And if we are still undefeated in week 16, that would mean we are still playing solid football and should be able to get a good lead by halftime against the Panthers. Home field advantage would be great. After what we did to the Giants I don’t think there is a team that can beat us if we have a week off to prepare.

i'd play them ...
BUT i’d sit them out some drives….
keep them in to get ahead by 14 points or so, then give em a rest for a few plays/drives
a bye week is fine but sitting down to long, is not good at all! these are well oiled machines, let them do what they do… and often to keep them oiled and ready

There would be a mutiny if Payton tried to sit them at 15-0
All 58 guys in the locker room would demand that they go for the 16-0. Not that they’d have to, because I’m quite sure that Payton would have decided long before to go for it. Nothing’s guaranteed once you’re in the playoffs anyway. It’s not a “16-0 vs. the Lombardi” kind of decision. How bad would it suck to throw the last regular season game and then lose in the playoffs anyway?
