Premature Saint's Playoff opposition
Giants vs Saints coverage New Orleans Saints Giants vs Saints coverage New Orleans Saints schedule
Good day every one, This will be my first entry on canal street chronicles so wish me luck.
Like a good OCD Saint's fan i constantly find myself looking into future games we might be successful and may not be successful.
Currently saints are 4-0. Bad news we face the giants next time we play football. Good news we will be comming off of a bye week, with M. Bell and Jenkins hopefully good to go. Did i mention it's a home game. This game although early in the season could actually determine who will have the easier playoff opponents, assuming the giants and the saints have 1st round byes.
Very probable standings after week 16
NFC EAST Giants 1st round bye 13-3 or 12-4 depending if Vikings clinch division before last game
Games lost ( 1 eagles, 1 cowboys 1 to either chargers or vikings and 1 maybe to saints)
NFC South Saints 1st round bye 13-3 or 12-4
Games lost (1 falcons <-- know saints too well, 1 Patriots <-- especially if brady's is feelings get hurt when he is touched, Giants maybe 1. last loss will come from dallas or last game of season vs panthers. (if saints beat cowboys then they will most likely sit starters for the panther game.
NFC WEST 49ers division champ (no brainer here 3-0 in division already)
NFC North Vikings division champ
Wild cards
# 5 spot Eagles
#6 spot Bears or falcons
First playoff game
#6 bears or falcons against Vikings
#5 Eagles against 49ers

I think that we match up well against the G-men. I think we get the W over them in 2 weeks, and I hope Eli plays. I try to look at what they have that we don’t.
1. Brandon Jacobs
2. Very good defensive front
After this week you could argue that we have #2 also now
and G. Williams will have a plan for the running game

Eli's injury
Looks like Eli isn’t too badly hurt. They say it is a planter fasciitis and that he can play if he can deal with the pain. On a side note I can’t help but think of Jim Mora screaming:
“What’s that? Ah — Playoffs? Don’t talk about — playoffs? You kidding me? Playoffs? I just hope we can win a game! Another game.”

The truth is
That I picked the Bears simply because I want revenge for the play-off loss to them a few years ago up in Chicago. I want them to have to come to the Dome and feel the PAIN!

Hear hear
Same for me. Also, I think that would be the most winnable game. Hell, even at Soldier this year might not be bad. Of course, Payton had a nice running game in ’06 when he went to Chicago, so the real trick is using it.

Really want to
stick to the Beers, and a fellow employee who’s from Gary,IN,(Bear Fan) that thinks he knows FOOTBALL. But Cutler could have a melt down before Thanksgiving or a team mate could punch him out.

coasting
i see us coasting through our schedule… minus the giants and pats. i still think we’ll win both games and go undefeated this season.

Boy, it's early to tell
I don’t think you can count out Green Bay as a wild card, they are reasonably good and it’s a very hard field for visiting teams to win at. Cardinals could wind up a wild card too- not convinced things will go well in Phila in the longhaul either. Mc Rib could get reinjured real easy and Westbrook probably won’t last the whole season plus weak LB corps. We won’t lose to atlanta, that just won’t happen. For that to happen, Ryan would have to outplay Brees. Don’t be surprised if Dallas recovers and grabs a wild card either.

It happened last year. Once, anyway.

Are you talking about the two regular season games or in a playoff game?

The Vikings
probably scare me the most. But that’s if Favre stays healthy.

agreed
great defense with a powerful, dynamic offense could be bad if Favre stays healthy. Could possibly be the NFC Championship game.
