Drew Brees hurt???????
I hope it's just a coincidence but... Ever since Brees was nailed in the Eagle's game and landed on his throwing shoulder he hasn't really been the same. I know the running game is doing well so of course they are going to stay with it but I'm hoping they didn't find out the running game is so good by trying to limit Brees' chances of getting sacked and hurt. He came out this week against the Jets throwing the ball good then after the 1st drive went MIA.

We have not been behind.
He has just been more of a game manager. No reason to take many risks as far as INT’s or sacks or him getting hurt. If you have the lead and the running game is working only throw to keep the defense honest and when you have too. That’s my opinion anyway. No need to chase that elusive Marino record.

you mean non throwing shoulder
he was driven into the ground on his non throwing shoulder. i just happen to have a sprained rotator cuff too, it shouldnt interfere with his throwing at all. i agree with vega, after one possession where we kicked a fg, the def scored and we were up by ten. game plans change… why pass when your up 2 scores. despite all his record breaking stats, i guarantee that db would rather be a game manager brad johnson style and win a ring. and im sure that he would have no problem seeing sharper or vilma or will smith win the sb mvp.

i think it's half and half
he’s played game manager like vega and mancrush have said but I have noticed that he seems to be off of his game a bit. I had been wondering if something had happened to make him that way or if he’s just a bit out of sync. I think it’s more of a game manager last week but in the game against buffalo…not so much. Hopefully nothing is wrong with him and he goes back to being the guy we all know and love a bit more. Cmon Drew, it’s ok to throw a TD pass! Although, I will say that he hasn’t turned the ball over either.

Anyone remember
The mans mother just died, too. That is enough to throw anyone off there game no matter how good they are. It’s terrible to think about but could you imagine winning the SB and not having a mother to tell

Dont think
its so much as he lost his mother, she died prior to the Houston preseason game. True time doesn’t matter much when you lose a parent. I grieved for my father for over a year. But if I remember correctly (if I am wrong I am sure someone here will correct me) he had mentioned that he wasn’t all that close to her. I think its just a balance of calling the plays so many passes & so many runs. Yes he was off on some of his passes, could it be timing, being rushed by the defense, his left shoulder hurting? Who knows, Payton wont say & neither is Drew. If its his shoulder he has plenty of time to get it better. Timing that will be corrected in the next 2 weeks. Sure Payton & Williams will have everyone studying game films all week and keeping an eagle eye on the Giants/Raiders game on Sunday adjustments will be coming. JMHO

dang this post scared me
i thought this was a link to some news article saying that drew brees got hurt… jeebus!
i don’t think he’s injured though. i think sp is going with whatevers working right now and what’s working is a hardcore defense and our running game. there will be games when db will have to be db and go superhero, but right now, i don’t think it’s necessary for him to do so. he said that records and accolades mean nothing if it doesn’t come with a win… so if the saints are winning via the defense and running game, i think that’s how we’re gonna do it unless otherwise necessary.

dude has just been getting some crazy pressure that's all
don’t think it’s been anything more than that. I think we need to have more 2back sets in Shotgun and give him more time.
Don't worry I got your back cuz...

cmon, you shouldn't even begin to introduce rumors with no basis
we won the first two games and then, duh, we won the next two. Now if you were the Buffalo defensive coordinator (wet field, outside, windy, rainy conditions), what would you do to try to stop us? What would you attack first?? Of course, our passing game, it was our bread and butter up to that point.. Prior to that, no one including the NO Saints knew if we could win a game with a ground game. Now, a week later, if you are the New York Jets DC, do you try to stop the passing game or the running game? It’s in a dome and the only way we run away with it and run the score up, even if we do have this new-found rushing offense, is thru the air so the Jets tailored their defense to stop long pass plays and the wide open offense. Their hope was to keep it close, to require us to grind it out- their only hope with a rookie QB dueling it out w/r Mr Brees. It worked!! the game was not a blowout and if Sanchez had played like he did the first 3 games we would have had a close game. But, the Jets played a smart and quality defensive game and we played a very smart offensive game and our defense did the job. Brees is not hurt, our coaches just got smarter over the last 3 years.

c'mon now
I’m not introducing rumors at all, simply wondering what everyone else thought about it. I know about the weather conditions and everything else for the Bills game but just the way it happened at the right time was odd. They never even went after the Jets back-up corner with Shepard being out. I’m sure that running the ball so much might get Drew out of rythem a bit since he’s used to throwing about 600 passes one after another but I haven’t seen him as off as he has been which is still better than most QB’s. Usually when he has an off game he throws a couple ints but at least will still be able to get at least 1 td.

So you think he "landed on his shoulder and he's never been the same"
and I still will contend that unless you have some objective proof to back it up you shouldn’t potentially start rumors that have no basis. I’m thinking that 1) in the last 2 games he was 36/61 for 362 yds and that’s pretty damn accurate and no interceptions, 2) maybe he should fall on his shoulder as much as he can!! 3) how would we ever establish the run if he kept passing at that efficiency, and 4) how many QBs with a bad shoulder can throw 61 passes without an interception and complete 60% of them? I can’t see where the problem is.

Every game
a different game plan, most teams script the first 10-20 plays. Drew’s OK, players have new pains every week. I remember the Buffalo hit, no-throwing shoulder ,took more abuse from the Jets. Bye week will help entire team, BIG GAME coming. Who-Dat..

Brees Shoulder
isnt that injured, he hasn’t been doing the pass happy thing because teams have been dominated early. SP has said that he wants to win games and shut people out, not put up huge offensive stats. This whole season you can expect to see alot of rushes and a few short passes to control the clock if we are up by a TD at least. Philly and Det kept scoring and staying in the game, thats why drew went off on em. the bills and jets were out of it, so he just played the game manager role to keep turnovers down for us. This is how really good teams like the giants, eagles, and NE play (exception of NE’s 2007 year)

The Only Thing Hurting
is my fantasy football stats…He’s fine and the offense is fine…Jets played good defense last week and Buffalo had terrible weather the week before.

Serves you right
for going against conventional FF wisdom, by drafting a QB within the first two rounds.

quite true
It’s valid speculation. That being said, Brees could be armless and flipping passes downfield off the bridge of his nose like a sea lion for all I care, as long as we’re winning each week.

I think
he’d probably still be as good as some of the other QBs in the league right now doing that. But that’s only if he flips it like a sea lion instead of some other wierd animal.
