Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

National Media tearing down Saints as fast as they built them

Just as quickly as the National Media built up the New Orleans Saints at the begining of the season, they are slowly starting to knock them off of the pedistal they put them on.  The last time the Saints started  a season 9-0 was .........umm....never...  I turn on the TV this week, whether it be NFL Network or ESPN, and everyone is talking about the New Orleans Saints, and EVERYONE has questions surrounding the way the Saints are winning.  What was once, "The best team in the NFL",  has suddenly become, "The Luckiest team in the NFL".   Last week's headline on ESPN read, "Sloppy Saints beat Rams".    The media has a job to do, and their job is to create controversy, and doubt.  They are now doubting the Saints.  Just remember when you are 9-0, something has to go wrong.  I mean you cant get any better than 9-0 can you?  After last week's win agains the Rams, cornerback Randall Gay said, "You dont have to blow every team out, you just have to win."  Well, at least our players have it right, and to me that's all that counts.

It's called CYA.

All the talking heads are doing is covering themselves so they don’t look like idiots. You have to understand that unless they get their predictions right, they lose credibility. They have seen the Saints lose some valuable players to injury. They’ve seen them play a sloppy game or two. They’ve seen Brees show signs of being human. So now, they are backpedaling.

Now, if the Saints go on to win, they can say, “I said earlier this season that the Saints were the team to beat. They’re fast, aggressive, and Sean Payton has them playing, maybe not perfect football, but at a very high level. Blah, blah, blah.”

If the Saint lose one or two, they’ll say, “Well, I said this last week. The Saints were due for a letdown and they’re showing that they still have problems. Blah, blah, blah, blah freaking blah.”

See how it works?

The only thing worse than losing is not winning.

its true...

what tigernut is saying… don’t forget the media is full of people and everyone has an ego, especially writers. I wouldn’t say their job is to create controversy but to create “new” whether you like it or not it’s news.

Don't worry I got your back cuz...

Its hard to even find their predictions

Does anyone even care? Injuries, sloppy play and Brees throwing picks are three reasons to have some doubt.

Being honest

In the minds of the media elite, the Saints are still the “ugly girl yo mama made you take to the prom”.

No such thing as an "ugly win"....

….yes, it’s a cliche’, but it’s a cliche’ for a REASON.

There is only ONE team that can say what the Saints can right now:

We are 9-0.

No chest beating, no trash talking, just stating a fact.

We are 9-0.

Clarification:

I meant to type “There is only ONE other team…”

that skip piece of crap

in the begging of the year first 4 or 5 wins Skip from ESPN was on the saints ban wagon now last week he said 6 teams are better than the Saints here is his list Dallas, Phily, colts Patriots steelers and bengals, this guy Skip reminds me of something I seen when I was a kid at the Snake Farm in LaPlace La, A RETARTED MONKEY…

That's an insult to retarded monkeys

Skip Bayless began his “career” at the Houston Chronicle. During a post game interview with Dan Pastorini (the QB for the oilers at the time), he got into a fist fight. For what it’s worth, Pastorini beat the monkey crap out of him.

Remember Jim Rome VS Jim Everrett?

Jim Rome kept calling him “Chris” after the tennis star (Chris Evert). Jim warned him to stop and when Rome persisted, challenged him by saying, “Call me Chris one more time.” Rome did just that, and Jim pushed Rome to the ground. I still remember the look of fear in Rome as Everett was standing overtop of him ready to pound his face in. Unfortunately that was the highlight of Everett’s season that year with the Saints. And, Rome got national recognition and a hit show now.

Gotta love America.

SAINTS PLAY

I see it like this. Do the Saints look as sharp as they did the first five games. Nope. Turn overs, injury’s, dropped balls, interseptions. SO WHAT??? They are still among the elite teams right now and thats a small field. Even with all the miscues. As far as luck the Colts and Vikings have had more than their share of that. You don’t hear the talking heads doubting Manning or Favre. In the end it’s all bullchit! Thats why we live for Sundays! They can talk all they want but all it takes it one blow out win and the Saints are the greatest team playing again. Says the heads. I say they still are till someone proves me wrong. Saints win this one 42-17 GEAUX SAINTS
