All this talk about losing!!!!!
What a crock!!! I have been watching the Saints lose since 1967. I don't want them to lose another game in my lifetime. However, I do agree about the one game at a time philosphy. But I don't agree with this negative attitude of let's lose one so we can get that monkey off our back. I want that monkey to become a 500 lb gorilla.
I remember Gary Cuozzo, the 62-7 games and 1-15 seasons. I remember the Kenny Burroughs and trading an entire draft for one player. I remember the paper backs and the Aints headlines. I remember every heartbreak and disappointment. I remember the good things, like Dempsey's kick and John Gilliams kick return, but they are few and far between.
Would Rickey Jackson and Pat Swilling be in the Hall, if they had played for anyone else, but the Saints. I tired of the disrespect and the catcalls when I wear my Saints stuff. For a team that can count their winning seasons without taking off their shoes, I say don't lose another game. I will take a hundred or two hundred straight wins if you don't mind. So I have concocted a poll

LOSE ONE!! ?
I agree with da miss…
But I will say that it would be foolish not to consider the effects that all the media hype that will surround any team after about 12 – 0 or so COULD have a negative and distracting effect!
Now that being said, I voted for No win every game because…. the most prized goal is not to take poor MM’s record away, it is the one and only Super Bowl. There can be no doubt that the distraction caused by going deep into the season undefeated WOULD cause COULD be a problem, but…. because of the nature of our club and players to a man… we do not have anyone I can think of off hand, players, that would seem like a threat to fall into the media’s trap. They all seem to have a humble, keep my mouth shut to any controversy causing statements kinda schooling and it must come from the leaders Drew and Sean. So if we had a team full of TO’s, or Ocho’s or Joey Porter’s or coaches like Rex Ryan I would be more worried about the undefeated thing… but this team, this coach I don’t see them losing site of the real prize… a Super Bowl Ring for the New Orleans Football Saints Team!

“Would Rickey Jackson and Pat Swilling be in the Hall, if they had played for anyone else, but the Saints.”
Great question. You should consider posing it to 49ers, Lions and Raiders fans, as well.

Unfair comparison
They played for those team long after their prime. Their best years were with the Saints. Did you know that the Saints linebacking corps was voted the greatest linebacking corps of all time by the NFL Network. Yet not one of their members is in the Hall.
I am more and more convinced you are not a real Saints fan and are just a poser trying to cause trouble. I may be wrong, but that’s what I think.

He's an objective voice.
If you write anything on here that could have two sides or another way of looking at it, CP provides it. From what I’ve seen, it’s not necessarily because he fully believes that way or disagrees with you, it’s to show there’s another side to the argument and incite an intelligent discussion or debate . . .
Well, sometimes it’s just to piss people off too. I agree with him, though. Rickey Jackson and Pat Swilling were as good as they were, BECAUSE they played for the Saints. Swilling left the Saints in his prime and went to Detroit and did NOTHING. Ricky Jackson is the most deserving of consideration, and I would argue that Sam Mills as well. I’d argue that Mills revolutionized the position, demonstrating a different type of person, can play middle linebacker and be effective.

Undefeated would be amazing
but I think that would be a scary ride for a lot of us. I think the Saints are probably the most talented team in the NFL this year, but being the best team doesn’t always mean a championship.
I hate the Patriots as much as anybody, but I have to admit that for the 2007 season they were the most talented team in the league. I don’t think they lost the Super Bowl because they were out-classed. I think they lost for the same reason Joe Dimaggio didn’t get a hit in his 57th game. Not for a lack of being the best player on the field, but for the fact that the law of averages catches up to everyone eventually.
So to answer the question, I want the Saints to go undefeated, but until that 1st loss comes I will be worrying about the law of averages catching up to us. And if it does catch up to us, I sure want it to happen in the regular season and not the playoffs or the Super Bowl.

I like them taking things one game at a time
We’ve been caught asleep at the wheel too many times in the last two years to take any team for granted. Get ready for each and every team we play, each and every game we play. You get to the playoffs by having a playoff worthy win-loss record, not simply by the number of “good” teams you manage to beat. Put simply, a win over Tampa counts the same in the win-loss column as a win over New England, so it behooves us to make sure we win against them both equally!

Ya to one game at a time
And from that pespective VA… the laws of averages are the same for each game! Yeah now that’s some serious Voodoo Cajun Philosophy there…no charge.

After years of supporting the Saints...
I’ve learned to take every win with a smile and good cheer for the whole next week. I’d rather have 19 ugly wins in a season than 16 pretty losses. ( Can you even loose a game pretty? ) When I look at the standings all those wins look pretty good to me. I for one was sick of the days when the Saints were the spoiler team beating people at the end of the season to keep them out of the playoffs but never getting in themselves. This is our team, the city, the fans, the coaches and the players have earned this run. They never give up. They never quit. Thank God its finally next season I was turning blue holding my breath before 2006. That was the year I spent talking about how great the Saints would be and how this would be the start of a new dynasty in NOLA.
Leave the style points in the BCS I’ll take our wins anyway they give them to us. Of course with a nice red bow on it going into half-time works for me too! :)
Here's to a fresh Brees blowing in NOLA!!!

If you know the answer, let me know....
In a perfect world, the undefeated Saints would beat the undefeated Colts in the most exciting Super Bowl in history.
But, what if the Saints and the Vikings finish the season with identical W/L records? I’m assuming that if the Saints lose to an NFC team and the Vikings win out, they would have home field advantage throughout based on the fact their only loss was to an AFC team. But what if the only game the Saints lose is to the Patriots? Or what if the Saints lose to the Patriots and one more game and the Vikings lose to an NFC team and they both finish 14 – 2, both with one loss to and AFC team and one loss to an NFC team.
I would never “wish” for the Saints to lose a game, but the priorities are getting home field advantage throughout the playoffs and winning the Super Bowl. If we get to both of those goals with an undefeated season, that’s just icing on the cake.
