Around SBN: The Worst Team Ever Projected?

Am I the only one?

That saw that the 66 yard td by Atl was the same exact kind of push off as they called on Henderson in the second quarter. The officiating was horrible. They allowed Atlanta to hold on almost every play, while calling it tight on the Saints. I am so convinced that certain referees have an agenda and I think Sean has made some enemies of certain refs with his vocal challenging of their calls. Poll, was that a push off or not?

it looked close

very close, but there were some bad calls… and some good ones… just like any game

we need to focus on what we can change though…

Yes… and no…

I mean, yeah there were plenty of good calls but it did seem like there were a LOT of bad calls in that game. And far too many of them either directly caused points, continued drives that ended in points, or ended drives prematurely. And really in some ways both teams got the short end on calls. It didn’t ALL go against us. But it wasn’t even either. And I suppose if you have to have crappy officiating, I’d prefer it to at least be fair in its crappyness. And I don’t think it was.

Oh well, we won anyway. And frankly if the refs did screw it up quite a bit in ATL’s favor that makes it all the more sweet.

You need to fix the poll options. They should be “yes” and “you must be as blind as an NFL ref”.

by FriarBob on Nov 3, 2009 12:08 AM CST reply actions

I think it was a "no call"

because it could have gone either way:

1. A push off by Atlanta
2. Pass interference (impeding the receiver) by us.

Just too close to call, I think. But, at this point in time I really don’t care much. The win was just to good to talk about anything else!

i voted no

although it could’ve probably been called by a more strict ref. I say no b/c Henderson got almost the same push off as that(slight, nothing huge) that set us up at the goalline. I think it’s good to let em kind of play but Greer has to do a better job at defending him when it’s pretty much a jump ball and you have position.

Superbowl bound!!!...I know! do you?! Go Saints!!

Greer

had no clue where the ball was. Thats the bigger issue involved in this play. Its all good because of his pick 6 but hes gotta have a little better presence out there.

good point - he totally lost sight of the bal

i agree, hands up... or hands down, but ..

the ball needs to be seen before you can do anything…

It looked more like a hand check than anything. Greer didn’t find the ball and White was just “feeling” where Greer was and if he was going to make a play. It was a good no call.

Henderson’s push-off was blatant and the main reason he came open on that play.

falcons got away with one

both ESPN and Nfl channell said it was offensive pass interference on white on 66 yard td pass, also funny ref call touchdown on no catch in falcons endzone that was overturned, something was going on with refs, the ref that called touchdown was 4 foot away seen the ball hit the ground and still signaled td, he was caught cheating for falcons and needs to be FIRED>

by bigbaddon on Nov 3, 2009 6:47 AM CST reply actions

a lil much...

try being a ref, that stuff happens so fast it’s hard to tell. Not to mention even though he was right there White’s body was at an angle in which the ref couldn’t exactly see everything. Chill dude…

Jabari Greer

has been a shutdown corner in my mind and getting burned once doesn’t mean anything. i think it was Gruden last night that said Greer had been targeted 45 times this season and only 15 of those were caught. it looked like he might have lost it or never seen it. Greer is the best corner in the league (i’m only a little biased)

yeah he's been solid as heck!!!

every once in a while every shutdown is gonna get burned. Now if they will just increase his speed on Madden.

i would like to see the saints dominate

regardless of miss calls or not… had the blitz worked that pass would have been way over or under thrown. all of these “missed” calls should be irrelevant if the saints are playing the way they can and should.

i think we all would!

but sometimes we cant have the cake and eat it too!! I’ll take this win, and love it!! …but right now we need this team to regroup, take a breather and just get back to the beginning of this season… opening drive thru whistle blow…

Refs are ALWAYS biased towards the visiting team, regardless of the sport. Unless, of course, you root for the visiting team. It’s something that ranks right up there with the Roswell UFO incident, in terms of unexplained mysteries.

Could have lost it in the lights?

at the wrong time, was it a push yes ,but not two hands,Meh, Greer was stride for stride with the WR, he knew the ball was coming his way, but didn’t see Ryan throw it, that ball left the T.V. screen and dropped out of the ceiling. Greer was looking for a different tragectory and when he looked up the ball was behind him,and not coming AT him. Still he’s having a good season, covering guys that look a foot taller than he is, what an upgade from Jason David and the past wippin’ boys.

I have watched it over and over

Not only did the receiver extend his arm to push off, which was what the violation was for Henderson, he also wrapped his left arm around Greer to gain leverage. Greer has a right to slow down as long as he does not change his direction in order to impede the receiver. The receiver clearly interfered with Greer. Watch replay on NFL network, you’ll see it.

I still think it was a good no-call
