CONSIDER THE PATRIOTS SCHEDULE....

The opponents who The Patriots have beaten have a combined record of 32-44!!!!  Check this out:

Bucs 1-10

Bills 4-7

Jets 5-6

Ravens, Jags, Falcons, Dolphins  6-5

Where is that defining game that got THEM credibility?? If anyone knows, please clue me in.  Also, the Bills game was basically won except the Bills' KR at 2:06 didn't take a knee so they could run the clock out and fumbled. Oh, yeah I forgot, they played the Colts pretty close.  I guess that's it.  So, the best teams they have beaten are Jags and Falcons. Not all that impressive. And, they lost to David Garrard and Mark Sanchez.  I can't even remember who the Bills QB is, but he almost beat them and TO only had 2 catches I really think the figures speak for themselves.  The teams that the Patriots have lost to have a combined record of  22-10.  What do you think??

Not David Garrard

Kyle Orton. Don’t know if that’s better or worse.

Yea this

Is a what have you done for me lately laegue except when it comes to the patriots.
They havent won a superbowl in 5 years before Sean Payton even came to the Saints.
So there is a notable bias for the pats in the media.
And lets not forget the bias for brady if you even get close to him there’s a 50-50 chance you will get a flag

What posers

The Patriots haven’t won a SB in 5 years. Sheesh. The Saints are all over the Pats in that category.

Keep the faith!

he never implied that the Saints are all over the Pats

simply that the Pats haven’t been all over a SB in 5 years either….

Let's say the Saints win the SB

Would Saints fans be expecting a bit more love in the media in 2010? Sure they would, and deservedly so. The Pats haven’t won in five years but they were the best team in the AFC and at least made it to the SB 2 years ago. They missed the playoffs with an 11-5 record last year without Tom Brady but have been competitive and have been contenders for most of the decade. I’d say they were worthy of some media “bias”.

If the Saints had the same record (not just this year alone) as the Patriots, they’d be getting the same respect.

Keep the faith!

I agree. Comes with the territory of fielding a dynasty. The 49ers were revered throughout the George Seifert/Steve Young era, despite only winning one Super Bowl under their guidance. Primarily because of the reputation they had built under Walsh/Montana, but also because they were still an extremely formidable team, led by a HOF caliber QB. Same thing with the Pats, less the change of faces at the top.

I agree too...

You win games and SB you get that bias…

YES!!!!

It’s OUR TURN!!!!!!!

Who dat!!!! Who Dat!!!! WHO DAT!!!! WHODAT!!!!!!!!!

And, yeah, I’m brewing another coffee!

But, to try to keep a little rationality (god, it’s hard) the other thing you might notice is, because the Saints really haven’t been on the top, I don’t think the announcers even know the players names that well…..but they will. Should I repeat the whodat?

WHODAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whays even more interesting

Is even the people who dis-agree with pats having media bias havent dis-agreed with brady getting special treatment

the Bills game was basically won except the Bills’ KR at 2:06 didn’t take a knee so they could run the clock out and fumbled.

The Bills’ returner Leodis McKelvin didn’t just fumble on his own in mid-field with no one around him. The ball was stripped by Pierre Woods after being hit by Brandon Meriweather. An aggressive, heads-up play by two Patriots defenders. So what you’re saying is that the Bills were winning until they lost. Yep, that happens sometimes in football games.

Keep the faith!

by Marima on Nov 30, 2009 10:10 AM CST reply actions

is it a great play by the pats or a bad play by the bills?

more often than not, players dont fumble… if mckelvin holds onto that ball, yall probably would have lost. if kevin faulk doesnt bobble the ball for just a second and gets a better spot, yall probably beat the colts. do you think the indy defenders who hit faulk made an “aggressive, heads-up play” or were just lucky?

by DrewBreesManCrush on Nov 30, 2009 1:16 PM CST up reply actions

that's my point - it wasn't pure luck

when a player makes a mistake, others know how to capitalize on it and take advantage of a situation and an opportunity.

“The opponents who The Patriots have beaten have a combined record of 32-44!!!!”

Patriots’ opponents: 32-44 = .421
Saints’ opponents: 41-69 = .373

Are you sure you want to play that angle?

That’s victories only and doesn’t include Week 12 games, btw.

What are the records of the teams they lost to???? Saints have not lost yet.

I think the Pats are over rated this year……….They had Indy beat but let them take it away and I don’t see Indy as being the Kings of the AFC in consistancy. They are barely squeeking by lately. It’s only a matter of time for them.

by saint-sly on Nov 30, 2009 11:45 AM CST up reply actions

I've said it before and will say it again...

Indy will be handled quick…they are barely winning. Sure, a win is a win, but i wouldn’t be surprised if they lose first game in playoffs.

Don't worry I got your back cuz...

Dang coldpizza...

I was thinking the same thing—Jesus must be coming back, we agree again. I didn’t want to bring it up but we’ve played worse teams and even barely won a couple. Tonight is going to be a battle.

What's the combines record of the teams that have beaten the Saints????

That’s the difference…see??

Vikings too

As I was watching games yesterday, there were numerous times when the question was floated, “Are the Vikings the best team in the NFC?” Joe Buck and Troy Aikman said yes, so I guess it’s true. Then Rich Eisen floated it out there on NFL Network and Steve Mariuchi said he also thought so. I like how Jared Allen responded when he was asked yesterday after their rout of the lowly Bears. He basically said the two teams haven’t played yet, so no one really knows. He also said the Vikes were just taking it one game at a time. This was a good answer that I totally agree with.

Yes, the Vikings are playing good ball with Favre under center and their D is pretty stout against the run (not as much against the pass). But, who have they beaten? The teams they won against are a combined 36-63. The Packers (who they beat twice) have the best record at 7-4. That said, the Saints’ wins have come against teams with a combined record of 41-69. Not much better considering we’ve beaten one more team then they have. So, it’s too early for people to start comparing the two teams and saying who’s better (except for homers like us who will always believe our team is better). The Saints have the perfect record and the Vikings have Favre, so in many MSM media minds I guess that gives the Vikes the edge, which is BS. The biggest future tests for both teams come tonight for us and next week in Arizona for the Vikings. Man, I hope we win tonight!

"I said this early on that this was a good football team, they just maybe had to have a stick put in certain parts of their body to play a little harder in certain places to where we’re able to take interceptions and score touchdowns."--Gregg Williams

by David "Satch" Kelly on Nov 30, 2009 11:10 AM CST reply actions

To both teams’ credit, they’re far more offensively balanced than they have been in recent years — Vikings towards the pass, Saints towards the run — and it’s undoubtedly that added level of unpredictability that have pushed both into the upper echelon of teams not just in the NFC, but in the entire NFL.

Yes and it

Will be a great game if the Vikes and the Saints meet in the playoffs i just hope it’s in our dome

i agree that the pats deserve respect

but on the same note, you cant say that a 10-0 team needs a win for CREDIBILITY! you dont go 10-0 in the nfl on a complete fluke. yes the pats deserve respect, but so do the saints for their 10-0 record. they didnt just come out of nowhere, they were in the nfc championship game in 06, and have had the top rated or nearly top rated offence the last 3 years. they finally took the necessary steps by fixing their defence, to put them over the top. payton and williams is quite possibly the best coaching duo in the nfl, or close to it, and they have the talent on the field to go the distance. its funny, i dont hear any of the analysts saying minnesota needs credibility, but the 10-0 saints with the #1 offence and ball hawking defence do…and if they lose this game to the pats, they arent for real i guess…go figure

They have the almighty Lord Favrequat

No need for further credibility.

Keep the faith!

by Marima on Nov 30, 2009 4:17 PM CST up reply actions

Now I think you can see better why the Patriots schedule made them look better than they really are!!!!!

and we were missing 4 starters !!!
