Saints work out veteran defensive linemen Paul Spicer and Rodrique Wright | New Orleans Saints Central - - NOLA.com
The Saints worked out veteran defensive linemen Paul Spicer and Rodrique Wright this week, General Manager Mickey Loomis confirmed. The team is considering potential replacements at the suddenly-thin defensive tackle spot, thanks to recent injuries to Sedrick Ellis and Kendrick Clancy.
Spicer, 34, spent the entire offseason with the Saints after signing as a free agent. But he was released on the final cut-down day when the team learned it would not lose starting defensive ends Will Smith and Charles Grant to four-game suspensions. Chance are, the Saints wanted to see what kind of shape the 6-4, 295-pounder is in two months later.
