Looks like the NFLN pundits agree with me
http://www.nfl.com/videos/carolina-panthers/09000d5d813fde95/WK-9-Playbook-Panthers-vs-Saints
LaCanfora picked a Panther upset as well. However the bigger problem than not matching up well with the Panthers is just being cocky. From the sounds of it this week, I doubt the Saints will come to play… They will expect this to be a cakewalk.

Yes, I’m sure the Saints probably didn’t even practice this week, knowing they were playing the Panthers. That’s the ticket. Your team will win because the Saints will have expected the heavy-hitting division champ of last year to be a stroll in the park. I mean, what trouble have the Saints ever had with the Panthers, anyway? Let me ask you, though, if the Saints find a way to win, despite the obvious absence of preparation for this cupcake, will that hurt worse for you?

Why are you acting like teams never get over confident?
It sounds like you guys go 7-0, and now think you are perfect. I’ve already said that the Saints are the better team this year, and no one including myself will be surprise if they win. I’m just saying this easily looks like a trap game for the Saints. But I guess anyone coming in here and doing something other than praise every aspect of the Saints is not acceptable.

I guess
my problem is the weakness, bordering on pointlessness, of that argument. The Saints are FAR from perfect, and I expect this to be a tough and extremely losable game, but one certainty is that it will NOT be because of overconfidence. It may be because of our weakened D-line versus your extremely talented running tandem, or because your four man pass rush combined with your overachieving DB’s will get some costly turnovers out of my team, which has given the ball up 8 times in 2 games. It may even be because New Orleans is a place where the currently lackluster Delhomme/Smith connection shines, and an overcommitment to run defense will allow those two to gash us several times for big gains and points. But the idea that the Saints could possibly believe they are so great that they don’t have to sweat a game against a division rival that has beaten them 7 out of the past 8 meetings is just dumb. Now best of luck to you, and I hope none of what I just wrote comes true. But I’m 100% certain what you suggested will not be the problem. This is not a trap game. It’s a good game.

Let me rephrase it then
I think the Panthers have much more to prove in this game than the Saints. I just don’t think it is realistic to assume any team after 7 straight wins, would practice and prepare the same for a major underdog, as they would if they were the underdog.

you sound like a moron
They won’t bother showing up to play this week even though they’ve showed up every week so far. How do you know your lil pussy cats will show up? They’re about due to start playing like crap again. You are very right, they are too cocky, especially the way they talk about how the kittens are better than what their record shows and how they’ve had the Saints number… genius… pure genius. Go back to torturing your small animals and beating up kids and don’t ever watch football again.

this comment is inappropriate
and your point could have been worded much simpler and much nicer. We don’t talk like this to someone just because he is a fan of a rival.
The only reason I haven’t already deleted this comment is because I want other readers to know what is NOT acceptable here at CSC.

He shouldn’t have mentioned small animals. Small = defenseless. Pick on something your own size. Torture a panther. Beat up adults. That’s what you meant … right, Dave?

If the Panthers don't show up and the Saints win convincingly, no one will be surprised
But that’s exactly what a trap game is.
To be honest, I have really admired what Payton and Breeze have done since they’ve been in NO. Panther fans have no clue what it’s like to have that caliber of QB. That being said, don’t expect me not to look for every possible way for the Panthers to pull an upset.
