BLESS YOU BOYS
SOMEONE SPECIAL IS SMILING UPON THE 2009 NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
I HAVE BEEN GOING TO SAINTS GAMES SINCE I WAS A LITTLE BOY, MY FIRST WAS TULANE STADIUM FOR ARCHIE MANNIGS FIRST GAME ,IT WAS AGAINST THE RAMS AND ARCHIE SCORED ON A BOOTLEG WITH 2 SECONDS LEFT AND WON THE GAME. I KNEW AT THE TIME THE SAINTS WOULD BE SOMETHING SPECIAL, I JUST DID NOT KNOW IT WOULD TAKE THIS LONG BUT IT IS WORTH IT BECAUSE NOW I CAN SHARE THIS WITH MY CHILDREN AND MY GRANDSON. I THINK THIS IS VERY SPECIAL FOR THE CITY AND THE ECONOMY BECAUSE ALL PROBLEMS EVERYONE HAS SEEMS TO BE A BIT SWEETER WITH OUR SAINTS OUT THERE EVERY SUNDAY MAKING US PROUD, I WILL BE GOING TO THAT LITTLE COUNTRY CEMETARY IN PONCHATOULA LA. TO TELL ALL MY DESEASED LOVE ONES THAT WERE SUCH DIEHARD FANS AS I AM ,THAT OUR SAINTS HAVE TAKEN THE NEXT STEP TO GREATNESS EVEN THOUGH I AM SURE THEY ARE LOOKING DOWN HELPING AND CHEERING IN SOME WAY. GO SAINTS AND AGAIN BLESS YOU BOYS.

Man, I was at that game too !
I also remember the game that the Bills came to town and OJ was racking up yards on every other team but only got 67 yards all day aginst my Saints. It was his worst outing on the way to his 1600 yard season. That also was in Tulane Stadium. Those were the days. I dont remember the score but I think we won.

after archies first game
I was so moved by that game I wrote a poem about Archie Who and that Saints Ram game and my parents read the poem and sent it in to wwltv channel 4 to Hap Glaudi and about 2 weeks later all my friends at school told me Hap read my poem on his sports show one night and I missed it, back in them days there was no such things as VCRs so I never got to hear him read it but he said If I kept this kind of writing up I would be rewarded, but only wrote poems every now and then because I went into marines at 17 and raised a family after that but always had time to be a Saints fan, I moved away to Alabama 25 years ago but always kept season tickets, sometimes I had to sell my guns and things to pay for them but it was worth it now between me and my boys we have 12 season tickets and hope we are pick in lottery for the Saints superbowl tickets this year in Miamai GO SAINTS…
