Does Anyone Know...

if online you can actually see what the active roster/ depth chart is for the particular Sunday before the game starts or during the game?  I was trying to figure out if they activated Arrington or if Jason Kyle stayed active (I don't think I saw him play).  I was just wondering, because with people like Fujita. Goodwin, Moore, Hartley and Ellis out, I couldn't figure out who might have taken their places on the roster (other than Pressley) .  Any info on this would be appreciated. Also, seems they don't have much confidence in Eckel, but even thouygh Dave Thomas is giving 100% and is very versatile, it would seem to me we need a real professional FB who can be a traditional run blocking FB and carry the ball and catch passes occasionally.  Isn't there someone out there who we can pick up!!

Couldn't we give Olaniygi Sobomehin a try again?

Seemed like he did well the little chance he got.

CP said he was on IR

I looked him up a couple weeks ago, and the interwebs said we took him off IR, then immediately cut him. I would have thought he would be the obvious next guy in line, after Evans went down, but there must have been some kind of impediment to signing him, if we went elsewhere in FA. He may actually still be on IR. Or maybe they just didn’t really like him.

I think once someone is on IR that is it for their season. You can’t put them back on a roster whether it be active or practice squad.

One of my friends mentioned that he had read where we had cut him off of IR, also. I haven’t been able to find anything on that. Not sure of the logic there. Unless it was some sort of injury settlement, where they knew they wouldn’t want him back next year, regardless. He was placed on IR last season as well, then signed to the practice squad early this past offseason, before being promoted to the active roster during training camp. All of that back and forth might be leading to misinformation on someone’s part.

Does anybody else think

Shockey would be a pretty damn good Fullback? I don’t want to lose him as a Tight End but, putting him in as FB occasionally would be really cool. Make the opposition wonder WTF is going on!!!!! (As if they’re not wondering that already!)

Just a random thought. (I’ve had a lot of those lately and I hate it when that happens!)

They’re already using Shockey at WR. Almost exclusively this past game.

He's had a history of injuries so I think it's unlikely

he may play as a blocker in the slot and in motion like TEs do often, but I doubt if they will risk him in a 3 point stance
diving into the line of scrimmage trying to move the pile. he’s too valuable at what he does best in his normal position.

Why not Strief?

He’s the biggest mo-fo on the roster and has been coming in as a TE in blocking situations. I’ll bet he could open some monster holes.

Gamebook (Adobe Reader file) on NFL.com has all of that information, though I’m not sure exactly when it becomes available. Starting lineups, substitutions below that, “did not plays” and inactives.

Kevin Dudley

who was on the practice squad last year and the year before, is currently an UFA.

Mike Bell

He’d be a good FB. He hits like a ton of bricks and is actually fast enough to lead block for PT or Reggie.

Just don't ask him to gain weight this time.

I thought that too

He was being groomed for it in Denver, and I heard him mention the possibility of playing FB in an interview this year(just in a “I’ll take anything” kind of way). He fills a pretty nice role at his current position though. Maybe they don’t want to eff with what they’ve got going there.
