New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons: Game Predictions

I can't believe I forgot and nobody reminded me to put up the results and poll for the last Saints game against the Redskins! As such, we don't have a winner this week...yet. I will have to calculate all the figures and put up the results sometime this weekend. Sorry about all the confusion, that overtime win must have really thrown me for a loop. We'll get back on schedule.

Anyway, go ahead and make your predictions for this Sunday's game against the Falcons. You know the deal. Good luck.

I think you're thinking of Fight Club

If fantasy football doesn’t involve grown men bragging to/chastising other grown men over their ability/inability to pick better players based on almost random/arbitrary statistical measurements, then what on earth do we play it for?

by TheBobLoblawBlog on Dec 11, 2009 3:39 PM CST up reply actions

When does Saintsational have time to research players?

The guy seems too busy to have time to find out who the hot fantasy players are. Not surprised he didn’t make the playoffs. I barely made it myself in the “Who Dat” league. I expect to be one and done this week anyway. That’s OK, I’m 11-1 in my Yahoo league with a first round bye. I’m feeling pretty good about that one. Next year, we should all put together a league or two there instead of Fleaflicker. The Yahoo play with its IDP players is way more interesting.

by David "Satch" Kelly on Dec 11, 2009 4:22 PM CST up reply actions

Congrats on your fantasy league

I use Yahoo for my main league as well and like the player injury status updates better. Fleaflicker seems to compile certain stats better for assessing team strength.

Congrats on your teams. In your 11-1 league did you luck out with Cedric Benson, or with Ray Rice? ;-)

by TheBobLoblawBlog on Dec 12, 2009 6:47 PM CST up reply actions

Neither

Frank Gore has been my main RB. Most of my success is from having Schaub and Favre at QB with V. Jackson, A. Johnson, and Colston as my WRs. I still can’t believe I managed to draft all three of those. Plus, having the Saints DST helped a lot.

wow

I see it as a normal Saints/Falcons game , onr or the other wins on last play of game field goal , like the Redskin game last week , I think all the last 4 games will be like that cause we will get everyones best game so they will be the one that trumped an undefeated team , just like last week. The Skins played so far over their heads and regular way of playing , it was a joke.I think in a reg game , with both teams being even in wins , no injuries to either team , the Saints would beat the Skins 50 – 7 or something.Heck , Brees had 419 yards against that team and you hear nothing about it. Our defense is bleeding very bad right now , makes me so nervious.

What's your beef with Bill Simmons? I used to enjoy reading him about 3-4 years ago, but then it got a bit stale, so I quit reading him...

Plus I was extremely jealous that he got to write about movies, sports, and pop culture, and I wish I had that job…

Who the hell is Bill Simmons?

He used to write free-lance for Page2 on espn.com, then

he left to write for Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show…then he returned and now has his own page “Sports Guy’s World” off Page2. He’s a Boston area born and raised guy who’s carved out a pretty good living writing about sports (NFL, MLB, NBA, college hoops, and movies, TV, and even details of his own life as a Boston sports fan)

Saints 31- Falcons 27

This will be our toughest game left with or without Ryan and Turner. Atlanta is still in the hunt and Smith will have them well prepared.
Payton has Dallas’ number and knows Romo’s tendences better than anyone, besides the game is in the DOME!
Tampa Bay and Carolina can’t hold a candle to our back-ups this year.

My off the wall predictions:
1. Even though Bush will do his usual east-west dances, he will score a TD via punt return or screen pass. (been hoping for his breakout performance for so long, I know it’s in there somewhere)
2. Dave Thomas will catch a TD pass
3. Troy Evans will have his best game due to Joe Vitt coaching him up!

1 D score a touchdown
2 brees throws for 4 or more
3 meachem on the score board again

Football is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom.
