enough of Troy Aikman

  1. I have to turn the volume down, because of Troy Aikman, He hates the Saints so much and does not hide his words like most sports casters that at least make it look like they are not pulling for the other team, They last time he called one of our games was at philadelphia and I could not take it but today was so bad I thought he was the coach or owner of the falcons, He did everything he could other than run out on the field and make a tackle on the saints.

I doe not know if I am the only one , but I would be willing to bet ,other Saints fans have to notice this HATE Troy Aikman has for the New Orleans Saints, I am going to email Fox sports at least 100 times and I hope other fans Join me in trying to get Aikman boycotted from calling Saints games..

I have to agree with you. He calls it like he sees it. I heard him second-guess calls made against both the Saints and Falcons today.

yeah I mean just because he says something that may or may not favor the Saints...

doesn’t mean I have to dislike the guy. Do you dislike Gruden because of his crush on the Saints? Nope you love him because of his favorable bias. Learn to accept constructive criticism of the team guys.

Haters gonna hate.

So let’s give him a reason to hate.

Seconded

I used to respect Aikman when he was a player. Not anymore. You’re a FOX analyst, not a Dallas Cowboys analyst. And of all of the teams for him to hate…the Saints were bad in pretty much every year that he had to play(and lose) to them. That would be like Brees retiring, being a commentator and hating the Lions.

"Drew Breeeeeeeees!" "Oh, yeah."

do you think he will

be calling the game Saturday since its on the NFL network? Plus can or is he more annoying then Tony Kornheiser on Monday night football

Aikman

he calls it both ways but he tends to favor NFC East teams, I mean he was Mr. COWBOY for crying out loud!!! But i friggin hate the Cowboys……….YUCK!!!

Nice loss by them this week

Thought he was bad in the Eagles game, not so much in this one.

He disagreed with the refs all day, regardless of the team victimized. If I hate anyone in that telecast, it’s the Midnight Cowboy, Joe Buck. That guy bugs me. I’d really love if Troy was calling the Cowboys game. However he feels about the Saints, he is definitely critical of the Cowboys. He’s like Jerry Jones’ mother, and Tony Romo is some floozy girl Jones has been hanging around with too often.

agreed

but, what I do – since I live in FL now – is snyc up the NFL Package with the audio from WWL that runs on sirius SAtellite. THere is a 10-15 sec delay, so you have to pause the game with a DVR and then you got Jim and Hokey – beautiful

Usually by this point in the season I am cursing and swearing that I will NEVER spend the money for the NFL package again, but to see my Saints 13-0 is priceless.

the only reason that looser oberman could be on Nbc is because

the liberal General Electric owns Nbc and G.E. is in bed with the white house and they love overbite pushing his liberal ass on sunday night football, other sportscaster hate oberman and all of rhem stayed clear of oberman the last superbowl…

Screw Aikman

He’s just upset his Cowboys cant win in dec. I’m just glad he isnt calling the game saturday night
Joe Buck and Troy boy must be the worst announcers on fox but hopefully we wont have to hear from him much more
And I really do think he has a bias against teams that aren’t from NFC east
And he definitly has a bias when he’s calling a Cowboys game

by simone219 on Dec 14, 2009 7:26 AM CST reply actions

4-0 last 2 weeks

I have 2 favorite teams in the NFL, da Saints and whoever plays da cowgirls on Sunday. Been great last 2 weeks, 4-0, and after next Saturday, will make it 5-0 in December.

Worst announcer of ALL TIME——-Dan Deerdork. musta been a michigan man, he was only guy to have ever played in NFL and never have a screw-up, according to him. A real legend in his own mirror.

Geaux Saints Geaux!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RAZOOOOOOOOOOOOOO da cowgirls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why are so many Saints fans so thin skinned???

I wrote a similar sentiment on a different post just a few minutes ago but I think it’s worth repeating. I don’t have any strong feelings about Troy one way or the other, but he has a weekly radio show where he’s been very complimentary of the Saints on a couple of occassions that I’ve heard (keeping in mind I don’t make a point of listening to his show).

Do you think that after so many years of too often being the NFL’s whipping boy, we might be a little over sensitive??? We have a great team this year. Every knowledgeable sports writer or analyst in the country KNOWS this. So I think we need not get so bent out of shape anytime one of them says something that isn’t exactly what we want to hear. It’s almost as goofy as thinking one’s political leanings should be a qualifier regarding if they should be allowed to call a game or comment on football.

by Drew-Dat on Dec 14, 2009 6:44 PM CST reply actions

My problem with him

I get that he almost always has a problem with every penalty being called or not called. He seems to have this need to cause controversy or give the losing team a reason to think the refs hosed them. That doesn’t really bother me as much as his lack of simple football knowledge.

During yesterday’s game, the Saints had one play where they got 2 penalties called on the Falcons: offsides, and pass interference. The Saints accept the PI call, which Aikman didn’t think should have been called, and he launches into this rant on how it would have been 3rd and 10, but instead the Saints are getting a 1st down. He completely disregarded the fact that at worst, the offsides would have made it 2nd and 5.

Then there was his observation that Hartley was in a slump after missing the extra point. Until that moment, Hartley was perfect on extra points, and the only missed field goal was a hail mary of a 50+ yarder from the previous week. Some slump.

So it isn’t any kind bias that makes me dislike Aikman. Its that in almost every game there is some moment that makes me question if he is even paying attention to the game, or just waiting for Joe Buck to give him his turn to speak. I’m sure he has a decent understanding of the game after playing for so long, but I don’t know if it is the concussions or what that is keeping him from expressing intelligent thought.
