AINTS FANS AINT SAINTS FANS!

WTF!  I don't know guys but I am amazed at how many people are unhappy with our performance!  Why, because it's not been perfect?  We are the New Orleans Freaking Saints!  We have one of the worst records since our inception in league history!  We are one of only a few teams who have never even been to the big game!  We have been the laughing stock of the league for EVER!  We have sucked for so long some of you can't enjoy winning!  We have been the AINTS for so long some of you are still AINTS FANS and not SAINTS FANS!

We are winning every game we play in, but obviously not well enough for some...freaking get real, we are winning games we used to lose.  We are undefeated!  We have an off day against Washington...and Drew throws for 417 yds! We are playing 4 quarters of FOOTBALL GUYS not quitting after 2 or 3 quarters like so many years in the past! Has anyone noticed we are the best we have ever been by leaps and bounds and some of you guys are picking at what we didn't do as well as you expected!  WTF?  We won, that is better than I ever used to expect on any Sunday!

 REALITY CHECK FELLAS!

I feel like dancing in the streets all day, and some of you are writing stories about how bad our defense is?  We have won every damm game so far this year...if you can't find elation in that maybe you just need to continue to complain about things and need to change teams now cause these aint your daddy's AINTS...maybe some of you should consider becoming Detroit fans or Tampa fans, you might feel more comfortable back in the role of a fan of a losing, piss poor team!  Some of you obviously cannot or will not enjoy being the best we have ever been and seem to enjoy finding what is not what....perfect about us?  I say keep it and give me the new bandwagon Saints fans that are having a ball with our record and team over you guys...some of you ARE OUR DADDY'S AINTS FANS!

Gimmie a break and keep the negativity for when it is more appropriate I say....just my opinion...I think I need to cast a spell on some of you not the other teams if we want to go all the way!

GGM, VOODOO WITCH DOCTOR WHO MIGHT PUT A SPELL ON SOME AINTS FANS THAT ARE LEFT OVER!

PS   Bet Buddy D and Hap would be telling you the same thing...ENJOY OR SHUT UP AND FIND A LOSING TEAM TO COMPLAIN ABOUT AND GIVE ME THE NEW BANDWAGON FANS WHO ARE ENJOYING OUR SAINTS!

PPS   WE ARE GOING TO WIN THE SUPER BOWL THIS  YEAR SO EAT THAT, NO MORE JINX'S, NO MORE COMPLAINING ON MONDAYS AND NO MORE AINTS...TEAM OR FANS!

PPPS  AND YOU CAN KICK ME OFF THIS SITE ALSO IF YOU DON'T LIKE THAT!

POLL UPDATE....after 4 days and 169 votes  6% AINTS happy...

OK.... DISREGARD MY POST ABOUT AINTS FANS AINT...

if any of you fanalyst were offended by the post…ya know the GGM aint a hater, more a gator.

I agree, but I also understand how some are concerned about the D. The good news is we’ll be getting three defensive starters back in time for the playoffs (Greer, Porter, Fujita) and our defense will get back to the form they displayed earlier in the season. Except for Kendrick Clancy, we’ll once again have the starting defensive lineup we started the season with. With the advantage of homefield and barring any more significant injuries, we should do well in the playoffs.

Did everyone expect the Saints to just blow out the Falcons like the Eagles did? Mike Smith and his crew have always played us tough. Unlike with the Eagles, they are very familiar with our team, coaches, and personnel. Because of that, they are able to game plan well against us no matter who starts for them. There’s no need to worry just yet.

Also, don’t be surprised if Payton and Williams have been holding back a little these past two weeks. They only need to game plan enough to win. There’s no need for them to throw everything and the kitchen sink at opponents from here on out and show all there cards on game film where playoff opponents can better study them. Plus, Payton has recently limited many players with nagging little injuries in practice. He’s already resting his players so they can get closer to 100% for the playoffs.

"I said this early on that this was a good football team, they just maybe had to have a stick put in certain parts of their body to play a little harder in certain places to where we’re able to take interceptions and score touchdowns."--Gregg Williams

Great Point satchmo26

I’ve been thinking Payton has been holding back for longer than the past two weeks regarding both game plans and injured players. Anytime we have a real challenge or a nationally televised game (Patriots for example) we reveal more. Then we go back to a more conservative approach when we have a weaker opponent or don’t feel the need to have a “statement” game. This would certainly explain why we’ve blown out our toughest opponents and have close margins over the Rams and Redskins

With all the talk in the media regarding the Saints or Colts “resting” players. To a certain extent, we’re already doing just that. I think a some of our players who have either sat out games completely or have been used sparingly would have seen more playing time if we were “desperate” for the win. When we get to the playoffs, we’ll have our injured (and rested) defensive starters back on the field and the game plan will look a lot different than what we’ve seen over the past couple of weeks.

It will be interesting however to see just how much Payton is willing to show his hand against the Cowboys as they probably represent the biggest threat to a perfect season coupled with the fact it will be nationally televised.

I know but.....

Is our defense No.1 in interceptions or close, is it our defense that is like I don’t know No.1 in points after a turnover, No.1 dis and maybe even dat? We are not perfect here and there from time to time…so what…maybe our defense reallyl looks good in so many ways compared to so many years especially the last few. This week I just watched a couple of the early games, Philly and New York if I’m not mistaken (I fit every game so far on my DVR’s and watch at least one a week) and Smith and Grant both had a great game…they didn’t so much this week….is it reallly that defense that is so bad? If not all but 1/4th of our D is weak, an area that will be greatly improved on by a few starters returning…and that represents a fourth of the D so an eighth of the entire team has a weak spot that will be filled….that’s reason to worry?
All I’m saying, like it or not is that anyone who can complain about this team, this year couldn’t enjoy a night with Fergie for one reason or another!

I still remember the days of the bags on the heads and all the bad luck happening to our SAINTS. I proudly hold my head high as I have always done. My family will tell you that “It takes a TRUE FAN to be a SAINTS FAN!!” and stand up and say it loud. I will enjoy watching the Saints the rest of the season, whatever it may hold. I will always watch them, no matter what. 13-0!!!!

There's nothing wrong with constructive critism

If you dont see a problem with some of our defensive players mainly Charles Grant then you are blind
I think most Saints fan are just worried that we have played to bottom dwellers in the last 2 weeks and have come out barely on top
I believe all teams are giving us their best right now and we are still winning but in the back of mt mind i wonder if we barely sqeek by these 2 teams what happens against the Vikes or Caeds
That does not make me less of a Saints fan and if you think it does maybe you belong back on that board you are always talking bad about

I excepted the Saints as they were during the bad years

But now i have come to expect more. They have been working towards this monent for 4 years. They have had one of the best offenses for a while now they have finally got a defense to go with it and I want it to keep up I see room for improvement and i understand we have lots of injuries but i no longer expect to lose and get nerves when it’s close

It’s amazing to me how anyone could complain about this season. If we did not win another game, it;s been an awesome season. Anything over this win is just icing on the cake. by Gris Gris Man on Dec 15, 2009 5:11 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

The Defense IS playing pretty average. That’s still a HELL of a lot better than the crap we used to have. And it’s good enough (for now at least) to win games. That too is better than we used to get. And finally the problems appear to be injured starters, who should all be returning for the playoffs. And if so and if they do, then we’ll be fine then too.

Do I want to see a blowout? Hell yeah. Hopefully we’ll get one this weekend, in fact. Would be wonderful to watch at the bar I’ll be at (with quite a few Dallas fans who are still friends anyway, but I would love it if they aren’t too happy with the way the game turns out).

But we’ve now won more games in a season than we have EVER done before. That alone was enough to pretty much make my day. Add in more-or-less knocking Atlanta (who I despise) out of realistic playoff contention and this weekend was GREAT. Even if the defense wasn’t.

All are ture statements

The saints are resting guys in practice much more than earlier this year. We all know Grant has been lousy the last few weeks, but the Saints didnt play a bottom feeder in the Falcons, and yes they play us very hard, Carolina will be a BIG win for us if we get that one!! They play us harder than anyone else on the schedule.

by Saintsfan4life on Dec 14, 2009 2:41 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Atlanta is...

a top notch team if they had even just that beast of a running back return, the QB did pretty good yesterday I thought so yes….the Falcons are no bottom feeders and we beat them again!

we held Atlanta to 89 yards rushing

we held Tony Gonzalez, best TE in history of NFL to 50 yards
we held Jenkins and White to 5 catches total
we held Finneran to 2 catches

we didn’t play as bad as you think on defense!

We played good enough to win!!!

Tards

I really don’t understand how people really don’t seem to understand that the Saints have a lot of injuries on defense, and have had them for about 6 weeks. Are people not researching before opening their mouths, not listening, or just plain dumb? Listen to all those who don’t understand. Ok, when you have injuries to starters guess what, the back ups not only don’t play as well or have the talent level, but also have many times not received the extensive work the starts received in training camp, that being the case everything related to that position goes to crap, but guess what, when the starters return things get good again.

by Jay2009 on Dec 14, 2009 5:46 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

You've shown this foul weather fan the light!

From now on, the only stat that matters to me is the W! So what if my team’s defense looked like 9 starters were out instead of 3? So what if the fully intact defensive line has failed to touch two of the lesser talented or well-protected qb’s in the league? So what if that shiny new running game has lost a bit of luster? So what if this team is sinking into playing it’s worst football of the year(which is a little better than last year’s best football, in all fairness) in the month before a playoff run? And so what if this website is a place for discussion of all points of view Saints-related? I think the rule here should be, if you don’t have anything nice to say about the Saints’ performance, don’t say anything at all. I think there should be one post a week before game day. Just a line that says (insert number here) And Oh, Baybeee!!! And then all of these naysayers can go find some other place to have all their frank discussions about performance or observations from the games or any other Debbie Downer bulls**t they wanna ruin your life with. Or maybe this site can be like Superfan, where, instead of discussing the Saints’ performance in reality, we can hypothesize the outcomes of dream matchups between the 2009 Saints and MechaGodzilla, or Sean Payton vs. Dwight Eisenhower. Out of curiosity, will you be posting a link to this insightful piece of literature on Saints-nation’s Defensive Player Grades post? ‘Cuz I got a feeling that’s gonna be yet another in a seemingly endless barrage of Chicken Little-esque “performance criticisms” from the peanut gallery.

P.S. The defense sucked on Sunday. Thank God for Jonathan Vilma.

Running Game

Not sure if you’ve noticed but that running game hasn’t been the same since we lost our starting fullback Evans (see above post). Not he is one starter who won’t be coming back this year, but we did upgrade the FB position this week though it might take his a couple of weeks to get acclimated. Also the starting offensive line can’t be as aggressive with the starting secondary hurt, to do so would be suicide.

Think about this...

If the game the Saints had just played was the Superbowl, and they won 26-23, would you still be unhappy with the defense? Or would you be screaming with joy that they stepped up and made the plays necessary to win the game? THE ONLY STAT THAT MATTERS WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE IS THE FINAL SCORE! Everything else will be forgotten quickly. Try forgetting the Saints 13-0 record…

All I have to say is that this is the greatest Saints season I have ever experienced in over 30 years of following them. You can argue all you want over the flaws, I’ll take the W’s.

OUR DEFENSE DID A GOOD JOB THIS WEEK

I don’t see how nobody saw what our defense did the week…three times the held them to a field goal…they stopped them at fourth and inches…and that was after being on the field for most of the game…We had trouble with pass rush…who ever thought this kid would play so well…We held thery’re running game to small yardage… yes some of our boys are out for now…and the secondary has stepped up and are doing really well…Its a strange year so many teams seem to have the hardest time against lower ranked teams….the 49ers beat the Cards, who beat the Vikes…the Houstons almost beat the Colts….Hell we always were the bad team knocking some team out of the playoffs so we know that it can happen on any given Sunday…but give the defense its due…they played well….I AGREE ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF OUR GREAT SEASON…….WHO DAT. …..DREW DAT……SAINTS ALL DAT…… BELIEVE DAT 14 -0

ROMO GIVES UP WOMEN!!!

This just in on special report.:
Due to his recent run of bad luck and excessive drama with the opposite sex Tomy Romo of the Dallas Cowboys says he is giving up women to devote more time to football. He couldn’t be reached for further comment as he is currently on a nature hike on Brokebrack Mountain with fellow Cowboy Jason Witten to work on what ever “game plans” pop up. It’s rumored that Romo has consulted the attorney of Chad Ochocinco and will be changing his name to Tony Homo.

101% correct GGM!!!!!!!!

Only 7 teams in the history of the NFL has started a season 13 – 0
No REAL fan will whine about that.
Any retard dumb F that whines EXPECIALLY about the Saints PERFECT record does not deserve to be allowed to watch them play, wear a jersey or even make a comment on a true fan website. And dont come with " well everyone has a right to an opinion" please save the drama and self pity for the phyco ward. Anybody that whines or complains or points fingers about this years team needs to have been holding the TV up that was recently perforated by REAL fans.
If you complain or have a problem with the Saints perfect record find another place to dwell in your self pity as you are the type of individual that would have bitched about Jesus dripping blood on the ground when he died for your sins. WHODAT! Go GGM! Run the retards off!

Of course I'm concerned about the defense

But only in terms of the next game on the schedule. Sean Payton stresses one game at a time and so should we. We can’t get too far ahead by worrying whether or not Greer or Fujita will be ready for the playoffs. While it’s certainly a luxury for once that we can do that, have some fun with this. The Saints are 13-0. The Colts are 13-0. Two teams with 13-0 starts is unprecedented. The fact that the Saints are one of those teams means we shouldn’t be down on them. The rest of the country is down on the Saints and calling us overrated. That’s fine with me. I say 13-0 is not a fluke.

And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.

i don't understand why people get so upset that...

other people disagree with them about where a team is at. So what one person is upset with the D or thinks we could’ve played better and then another is just happy we’re winning. Let it be!

Don't worry I got your back cuz...

by TAYDIGGA on Dec 16, 2009 2:26 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

I'm happy that we're winning games but

I think we could do better. I don’t think anyone’s upset that we’re winning but that there’s sooo much more potential in this group that’s not getting used to it’s full extent. Also, why can’t the Saints fans be critical of the games? The Saints players do. They go and look at film like they lost the game to see what they can improve on. I think that you’re taking the complaining the wrong way. Everyone’s happy we’re 13-0 just not happy with exactly how we got there. Some people will be content win or lose while others won’t be content unless we blow out every team. There’s always something for the team to improve upon.

Superbowl bound!!!...I know! do you?! Go Saints!!

Like A Chemo Patient Complaining Their Hair Is Falling Out

To be honest even those of us who are deliriously happy deep down have concerns about the defense. but the big secret is that we (myself included) don’t to, and are even tired of talking about it. I have posted so many comments explaining the effects of the injuries to a defense that I’m just tired of it. The injuries have then playing off, yet they are still willing. It’s like aasking your wife why her hair is falling out when you know everyday she’s taking chemo…it’s kinda self explanatory…and until the injured players get back their’s nothing anyone shy of God Almighty can do to fix it, so why dwell on and and keep kicking the dying horse. Be glad of the miracles the Saints are pulling off with the hobbled defense and don’t sweat it.

Couldn't agree more

GGM, very heartfelt and to the point post. I’m new to this site, but not to being a Saints fan. As a 45 yr. old man, who grew up in the shadow of old Tulane Stadium, I can remember the days of goofs, blunders and comedic play we use to get from the Saints of old. As the years unfolded, you could tell who were the true Saints fans, and who weren’t. Cowboy jackets, Steeler jackets, almost all team jackets could be seen at one time or another by friends and previous Saints fans. It’s my belief that these are the same ppl harping on a “not perfect game”, and dogging a team with a perfect record. Who cares if the Saints win by 1 or 31…it’s a WIN. Isn’t that what it boils down to at the end of the game? It wouldn’t matter to me if the Saints won every game by 1 or 2 points. At least I can have the last word and say, "they might have played a crappy game, but we got the “W”!"

Thanks and we grew up in the same neighborhood

Hey Scott, did you ever used to sell drinks at the Tulane games? I also lived a short distance from the stadium, the original Tulane stadium. Man what a great old neighborhood that was, I was on the corner of Pine and Burthe streets, that’s one block off Broadway and one block off Feret.
Somehow I was never put off of being a fan because of their record. It seems that I could always find something to be proud of, even if it was just the Steve ‘Bonebreaker’ Stonebreaker years when all we won were the fist fights! And what Saints fan couldn’t always figure out why ‘Next Year’ would be different…even when it never was!
Well…it started with Jim Mora I think, he brought us a team not just good on one side like the ‘Dome Patrol’ days but a complete team…the team just had no winning mentality. Then Hasslett brought us even closer to respectability but just not quite there.
Well guys, finally it’s ‘Next Year’ and we are no longer the Aints. Win, Lose or Draw from here I believe we have built and ORGANIZATION that will not be disrespected again, we might…(the GGM knows) not win the Super Bowl but we are NOT YOUR DADDY’S AINTS!

Actually grew up behind Robert’s bar, and the old FrostTop area. Roy Rogers after a Saints game was the bomb as a kid! Later, moved back to the area. S. Tonti and Claiborne. Went to Carrollton Presbyterian School on Panola and S. Carrollton, if you remember where that was. Also did a stint at McMain. Was a Shannahan-ite for awhile. Great neighborhood. Can remember sneaking into Tulane Stadium, climbing the joke of fencing they had there, and playing on the field til the security would scream at us from the stands to get out of there, and we’d run like scared rabbits, not realizing they were 200 yds. away, and it would take the fat 1 20 mins to get to us! lol

Oh well, I’ve been depressed long enough I guess.

And I said.

I am

a Broncos fan, and I think the best thing that happened to this franchise is losing tonight. In 1998 we went 13-0 and lost the 14th game. Then we won the Super Bowl. So much of this team reminds me of that 1998 Broncos team (a lot, but I don’t want to bore Saints fans with Broncos stuff), and I mention that because Gris here says a lot of fans are complaining about the defense and some of the flaws of this club. They said that about the 1998 Broncos. This is one of the most impressive teams I’ve seen in a while.

The Saints will refocus, learn from this and tear it up in the post season. If the Broncs can’t win it all I am rooting for the Saints 100 percent. Ya’ll deserve it.

Cheers

~me

HOW BOUT DEM SAINTS 13 - 1

Wow I know there are alot of people upset that we lost last night…..but for this Saints fan some what of a relief….now that whole undefeated thing is off our team…..and the record for teams that have gone defeated and lost the superBowl …not so great…only one team the Dolfins were able to carry that out…so to me I’d just as soon have that monkey off our backs,,,with that being said…the cowboys brought thier Agame and we brought our B game…..I am still thrilled with the 13 – 1 record….what a year to be a Saints fan : ) BLESS YOU BOYS
